We owned a restaurant for a couple of years and we will never do that again. We made some money but it wasn't a ton and it was a lot of work. They also say you will never get rich working for someone else.

Friday they had me run a bunch of pressure tests and slip tests before I pulled the transmission, I did them and hurried to drain fluids before they came up with something else to test. I found this on the drain plug and that ended the testing.

Internal failure

Someone at our rebuild shop built it's so not an installation issue, it's a rebuild issue. All the lines have been cleaned and reinstalled so it's time to put it in. now the fun begins.

hopefully copr has records on who built it and can see if any other that person built have failed. If this is the only one just a mistake if more than one it a quality issue

Hump day is here!! Long weekend coming !!
All job orders have employee numbers on them so they know who worked on it. I hope to have the truck back together today. Still need to put on a water pump before I can fill the cooling system and run the tests. My new tablet shipped yesterday and is suppose to arrive on Friday. If it does I can get the aux brake kit installed over the weekend and that will wrap up everything to tow the Hummer.

That was an expensive screwup. Your labor, parts if it a rental out of service loss if it a customer's their down time plus cost of rental replacement.

When you finally stop being employed hump day and 3 day weekend lose their importance.
so when are you getting kayaks and a roof rack for the Hummer to carry them?
Have you ever been to Ft Campbell? That where I plan on getting gas on the way out and back to get the sawmill. I noticed since Holiday Inn is doing Army loding it cheaper off base.

Never have been to FT Campbell, drove past it but never stopped..
No kayaks! ! The Hummer is too high, wife is short and I'm to old to lift them. Rental is a better option if we decide to do that somewhere.
Cab is on so finishing up install and then on to the water pump, not going to be fun since it's buried under a ton of stuff.

I tell her you said she was short. I do it Lexie all the time. We are too old for a bunch of stuff we do. So the water pump is a seperate job?
my neighbor that works at TEC posted something on FB about Cat getting out of forestry equipment

Yes the water pump is a separate warranty job.. The transmission is done but can't do anything else till the water leak is fixed.

I bought some stubby SAE and metric wrenches this morning. Next is to get more impact sockets, especially 3/4 drive stuff. Also need some line wrenches 1 inch to 2 inch range.

We got the announcement that CAT was selling off the specialty forestry division yesterday afternoon. Weiller who makes paving stuff is buying it. We already are a dealer and repair facility for them so no change for us other than the name on the machine.

The wife knows she is short.

Everything I owed the Army is paid back so I get a full retirement check starting next month !!
