Side mirrior recomendations..

Well i finally broke one of my side mirrors off backing a huge trailer down a narrow path. Just would like some input on what mirrors you guys have used as replacements or should i go back with the stock mirrors? I do alot of towing and would like to put something on that i don't have to do a lot of modifications to "make it work". thanks for any help

Start reading this thread on page 3 post #30. Several of us have purchased these mirrors from an ebay seller thanks to afmedic's suggestion and have been very happy with them. Much better field of view.

I bought these and am very happy with them. They are much better than the OEM towing mirrors.

afmedic bought them first, then AllAboutMPG and I followed. We have all been happy with them.

I definitely like those mirrors! i read through several pages on that thread, but was thinking since i don't have the power mirror option on my truck i can't manually adjust the mirrors? Or do i have to wire up some sort of switch? All about mpg did you wire up your blinkers or heat? i noticed in the thread sous did not.

Didn't realize you didn't have power option. Sorry.

I left the lights and heat for another day as it will be a good bit more involved that the mirror install. It was a quicky job. Have been looking for the timer switch that others used years ago for the heat. It came out of a 98 or so explorer for the rear window heat but there don't seen to be any left out there. Figured there are others but just have to figure out which vehicles they were in and haven't done it yet. Turkey season and spring time bass fishing has gotten in the way

These are Manual towing mirrors. https://www.ebay.com/i/312084378057

I would think you can still move the mirrors manually.
maybe one the 3 that bought them can test for you.
I will move my 1Aauto mirrors manually on the way out this morning to my work van.

You can still move them manually. My switch is broken and won't move to the right, so I had to position these manually.

I have the '03-'07 style tow mirrors from 1A Auto (180 degree swing, power, heat, and lights). They look OEM and have been great for the 3-ish years I've been using them.

Thanks John, thats actually what i ended up doing and found a pair that looks very similar to what sous recommended. Just really hoping the quality is like those heated mirrors that everyone is getting. They better be, they are basically the same price! Ha! If not i can always return them.... at least that is the excuse my wife uses everytime she is ordering something on amazon. still lovin those headlights , thanks again!

Glad I was able to help you out with the headlights. s. I replaced my mirrors with powered heated ones off eBay and they are excellent quality.
