Or even now trying to integrate rail into places that it just won't work.
Like putting it where there is no easy access to the work place on the
one end and not close to home on the other.
Then you get the NIMBY people that don't want a high speed train zipping by
let along even a slow one. Just look that mess down in SoCal. We also have
something like that going on here too.
Well off to the rat race. Got to go pick up the cat at the vet. He is still very sick.
We are going to see if we can treat him at home now that we know what the problem is.
Hope the Cat is ok Sean, My Daughter is Working the Train wreck ,EMT , she Deamed herself Save to us which was a big relive , now for huge clean up and figure out what happened .
When I first saw your comment I hoped it was a typo... "rain on the I-5". Sad and scary!
Well when I posted I thought it was a typo as well. About 15 minutes after I posted I saw a headline about it. Certainly didn't mean to make light of it. Sounds like a real mess. Heard this morning that the train was going 80mph in a 30mph zone.
Sean: 2 things: 1st and foremost is those closest to you, for some of us (that others may not understand), that is your kitty is going to be OK -- we had an elder one live for 5 years with insulin shots twice a day -- he had cancer early on in life and at 18 that is what came back to get him. Hang in there, diabetes isn't that bad....
Not sure what the latest news is on the train up there, other than they spent a ton of money to upgrade that whole rail section and it comes off on the first day of commuter use?!
See, that is where me and our CA Progressive Dictator, excuse me, Governor, get a bit cross-wise. Trains and buss's run on schedules - easy target. Planes don't take off or land if it 1) isn't safe as their knowledge allows, or 2) they don't have a full enough aircraft to make economic sense. But yet we need to build one that nobody will use that will do 120mph on a good day, and only take 100 Billion dollars to just build, let alone run (free for undocumented commuters, I'm sure)...
But hey, that is just me: a known Capitalist, non-Progressive type, who thinks logically, not based on what the lobbyists pay me to think...
There are a lot of hints that it may be a speed issue. If that is the case then they have to come to the why of it.
The line was not all that upgraded. They could of also TPS installed the train protection system or in the USA PTC, ATC
and a whole other list acronyms. But the track owners did not want to put the $$ into it Some examples of lives that
could of been saved with the system installed. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Automa...ain_protection
On the fuzzball he is slowly getting better. I just need to get him over the crisis and then things will improve.
We were able to catch somewhat early. Tomorrow will be visit #3.
Sean: I am sitting here trying to find some words of comfort to type, and there really aren't any. We've been there and it is very sad news to read. I'm so sorry for your loss...
