Does it show the fan speed on the SYNC screen?
It only shows when you change the speed.

I'll check the sync screen tomorrow. I think you can get the AC controls to come up on that screen. Not sure.

With the dual zone system, the fan speed shows on all Sync screens when you change the fan speed. Pops up for just a few seconds. Does it in audio or nav screens.

Tip #65.........save your money and don't pay for navigation. Use car play with your phone and use google maps (or any map program you like) which is a superior product (updates itself) and functions on your display just like the expensive Ford navigation option.

You are right. The time is coming when people will laugh at Navigation in a vehicle like they do a cassette player now.

That time is now. Factory navigations have been a joke for a while. Gmaps/Waze, etc. Are so much better, up to date, accurate, feature rich, it's silly not to use em. Especially with the voice commands they have now.

I agree. My wife's Acura and all the cars I've seen its not even close to what you get with goggle maps or waze. Even the Blackberry 'Blackberry Maps' is better.

But...... when I was sending my build around to get prices...... one of the dealers/salesmen was really pushing 'navigation' and asked if I had accidentally left it off my build. He told me they rarely have one on the lot or order one without it. And what if I sell it without navigation...... will anybody buy it??

I actually had to convince him that it was not an accident, I left it off intentionally, I don't want it, I don't need it, not going to pay for it etc. etc.

I didn't order it, but was wondering if I should have... when using your phone for navigation, does it mute the radio and chime in telling you of a turn, or do you have to keep watching it? Do you have to minimize the navigation to get to the audio controls?

Totally integrated.

Another issue with Ford Nav is not being able to find/recognize well-known addresses, and the improper use of the pronunciation of the number "0" as the Ford Nav lady will say and recognized a zero as an "OH". I live at 201 Mystic Lake. I have to say 2 oh 1 or it will not know what I am saying. Drives me nuts. I even notified Ford years ago.......they didn't see an issue. I guess none served in the military.

One day my wife and I were going to Brandon Ford in the F150 and we punched 50000 Adamo Dr. The Ford female Nav voice chimed in 5 oh, oh, oh, oh,, prepare to turn left on 5 oh, oh, oh, oh, oh...........my wife chuckled saying it sounds like the old girl is having an orgasm.

I only use the Ford Nav screen for the weather over lay - I zoom out enough just to see the weather overlay in metro area.

The ford maps are at least 3 years old, as such its unusable for routing.
If it didn't have all the other crap (seats, climate) integrated it would would be on the shelf already.

The auto headlight feature, in my lariat anyways, will do daytime running lights with just the front lights on (no fogs) then if it gets darker or when it is dark it will automatically turn on all lights front and back. I never turn it from the auto feature now. Even my salesman didn't realize that....and the 1st time it goes into night mode if you did not have your fogs on turn them on with the button, then don't touch it.....it will remember next time.

Agreed. The other thing the Ford maps are good for of course, is when you get out of cell coverage. Smartphones rely on largely on cell tower data for location, but more for map rendering, the Ford GPS has all of the maps locally, and need only line of site to GPS satellites. It's saved me several times as a backup, when I've forgotten to download map data to the smartphone when going into remote or mountain areas

EDIT: this would be the equivalent of having a Garmin unit with you (which would be cheaper if you had the option to remove Nav)

Does the FORD Sync not update the maps etc.at least annually? First vehicle with a factory NAV system and I thought it said in the online tutorial once you link it to wireless it will update.
