A tip for those who dry out their door jambs after washing the truck... those little bumpers on the forward part of the bottom of the hood come out VERY easily when wiped over with a towel. 2 fell out while I was drying the truck. One I caught, the other went clunking down somewhere in the engine compartment, never to be found. I had the dealer order me a new one, I'm probably going to put a dab of black Permatex on them to keep 'em in there.
Agreed. The other thing the Ford maps are good for of course, is when you get out of cell coverage. Smartphones rely on largely on cell tower data for location, but more for map rendering, the Ford GPS has all of the maps locally, and need only line of site to GPS satellites. It's saved me several times as a backup, when I've forgotten to download map data to the smartphone when going into remote or mountain areas
EDIT: this would be the equivalent of having a Garmin unit with you (which would be cheaper if you had the option to remove Nav)
Yes this was the case last month when I was in BC, Yukon, and Alaska last month
There was no cell coverage for days at a time and when we had it only in the small town we were driving thru.
I agree the Ford system isnt as good as google or any other similar but it works and its everywhere there is GPS
My DRLs seem to have quit, I noticed today. But in settings they are turned on. 2017 F350 CC 4x4 KR with the LED lighting. Anybody BTDT? Also the nagging steering wheel vibrator deal that says 'you fergot yer blinkers again homer' seems to have stopped...there is a God.

There's a button above the 9" screen that turns the vibrator (lane departure) off. (that thing is as annoying as Rosie Odonell at Trump rally) As far as the DRLs not working when they're supposed to be on. I'd take it to the dealership and find out what's going on there.

Thanks, and yep. They owe me a TPS wheel sensor anyway. One was defective from the git go.
That just might be it. When a vehicle has automatic shizz, I usually turn it off. I know how to work my lights and wipers etc. The automatic wipers were twerking on me right when I picked up the truck and those got turned off quick. I'll check the headlight switch.
My truck also has automatic high beams in the advanced settings. I'm still waiting for them to turn themselves on, gonna grow a beard waiting. I wonder if they work the other way like a 70s Cadillac, and could more accurately be described as automatic dimming.

I think the lane departure warning with it's subtle vibration is wonderful. On my wife's Volvo it beeps annoyingly, then if you've departed the lanes too many times it puts a picture of a coffee cup on the screen and tells you to go take a break. Fords is very non-obtrusive in comparison!

my truck gave me a coffee cup warning on my
last trip. Was surprised, as I hadn’t heard about it before and haven’t seen it since. Don’t think I was swerving, and I didn’t even have the lane departure turned on. Was about three and a half hours into a drive. Not sure what criteria our trucks use to recommend coffee...

Any vehicle that beeps much at me gets sold. I read FourWheeler mag and noticed that Toyota has gone down that route. No more Toyotas for me. Plus they are starting to look more fugly every damn year.
The worst was a GMC Yukon I rented from Enterprise this year. It vibrated the seat and FOUGHT BACK WITH THE STEERING WHEEL when I changed lanes! Madness. I called their roadside service and made them show me how to disable it.

Ford does it also if you begin wandering over the lines a lot.
