That much I knew but also the Mercury's sported more bright work than the Ford's..

I know that the Mercury trucks were a bit fancier but didn`t the optional Deluxe Cab come with all the same bright work?

Likely the deluxe models of the Ford's but think it might have been standard on the Mercury's but I'm not 100% sure and haven't seen enough of them to say..

Likely you`re right, unless a Deluxe Cab was ordered Ford trucks were more plain.Having said that if it was possible I`d love to find a ''new'' 53 F100 with a V8.

Easy enough to change out the flathead if you wish but that's how they were built in the 50`s. Anything rust free would be a big bonus.

Using a new fiberglass cab comes to mind if it`ll be in the heavy salt.

Nice pups Steve, I saw them on Fakebook earlier. Where and when did you get them?
While I`m into the 53-55 trucks the 40`s trucks are neat too.

Good morning everyone, cloudy this morning with the odd flake falling, doesn't look like it will amount to much though
