Seems that last 56 M100 I had was too cheap, it sold in a few hrs and went to a fair distance to Manitoba....maybe near Grant?. Very few 53-56 Ford/Mercury trucks are ever listed for sale in Western Canada, the fairly decent ones are priced a way out of my comfort zone.
When I first talked to you you said you sold for scrap prices and was surprised at what you said you wanted for it so figured I'd wait to find something closer or get a more complete truck
I did sell some very incomplete for what I would've gotten for crushing bu tover the yrs prices have come up a long ways. I know that it's harder to find old vehicles but I don't get today`s prices. Some have a lot more money to burn than I do.
There's not enough people here willing to rebuild a truck or car to drive the prices overly high. I know of a few 5k vehicles that got sold at 3k, but at the same time I know of pieces of crap that sold for 10 times what they were worth. Tomorrow is supposed to be 3 above.
There's stuff on kijiji that I was looking at over a year ago, they'll sell for half price or rot where they stand, yet the over priced crap sells really fast. Rusted out versions of my F350 sell for $3500 and up but all I ever got for my rust free 78 F350 was insults and $500 offers for "that worthless piece of garbage ". If its not a piece of rust its not worth anything, I've never paid more than 1300 and have paid as little as 300 for anything that I've bought and I'm picky about what I buy.
It looks like the girl that I bought my 48 from has a 50 Mercury M1 for sale at $3000. I'll post the ad if anyone is interested, this will be a good deal but you'll need a trailer. If someone is serious, I could get it to my yard and store it as its only a few blocks from me.
I was asking $6500 for a 78 F350 rust free and mint condition twin cylinder dump truck with 116, kilometers, not even a crack in the seat and never winter driven, fully maintained.
What shape is the M1 in?
5-6 yrs ago I sold my nice 71 F350/390/4 sp/hoist and deck dually for $1,500. While it did need a bit of TLC it was straight, rust free and driving nicely. Wish I'd kept that one.
My junkie neighbor poured water and sand down the carb in December of 2012 to get revenge on me for slashing about a dozen of my tires, he slashed my tires to get revenge on me for moving into my old place and not being a drug addict or drunk. Police told me that I should be grateful to him for fixing my truck for me as its people like me who are the problem and not good Calgarians like him, and those are the words that came out of the cops mouth on 3 different occasions. The truck is in the garage but is now sitting on a 89 F350 frame as its virtually rust free and I intend to keep it that way.
