Yes I bought 4 foot LED tubes to replace the florescent tubes and removed the ballasts from the fixtures because you don't need them. Just need power to one end of the tube..
I`m amazed with the extra light from an LED shop light John, after trying one LED shop light I changed all of mine over.
My 4' LED fixture was $40 at Costco and $30 on sale at Peavey Mart.
Yesterday I was in Peavey Mart looking at LED tubes to replace my florescent lights in our kitchen and the clerk wasn`t about how to do that. So I just remove the ballasts from the fixture John, that`s it?
I'm pretty sure the T8 is the skinny green ended tube and they don't take to cold exposure for to long. The single point ended thick tube takes lots of abuse and is used in exterior signs. The T12 is your general purpose commercial light.

Even the brass monkeys are complaining about this cold weather this morning. It should be better starting tomorrow.

I can`t afford to heat my old shop, the big bi fold doors aren`t weather tight.
Hello Grant, have a good day.
The road trip has been put off until next weekend Morris, driver reports are saying there's hardpack snow and it's drifting pretty bad. 8 hour trips for trucks, 10 hours for light vehicles and its the light vehicles that are going off road. I've been in contact with my motorcycle pick up and everything is cool with him.
Spent 3 hours pushing the shovel out back, have a 6'h x 15'w bank and 1 thats 4'h x 14'w
It`s a good plan to put that road trip off, it was even drifting a bit in my sheltered yard earlier today. There must have been a lot of snow come down. Stoney Trail was reopened as of 2 p.m. Friday after having been shut down for several hours due to a massive pileup.: https://globalnews.ca/news/4016432/s...le-collisions/
That area has a lot of reclaimed swamp land and is notorious for black ice and ground frost. The last acreage that I was on wasn't to far from there and we had load restrictions into June and if we had to much rain 284th got so soft you couldn't go above 30mph as the front tires would cut a 2" track. We had a raised railway crossing that some fools would take at more than the posted 10 kph and you'd see them or their tracks in the ditch. It's a really soft area.
That sounds like a good place to stay away from.
My son just texted me that Calgary got 32 cms of snow so far, that it was -30 last night? Wow, that`s Saskatchewan kind of weather except we didn`t get a lot of snow so far this winter.
The backyard had 12 - 15" of snow and alley side of the fence had 8 - 12" , wind chill had it as low as -35 , pretty good reason to stay inside. The meteor comes tomorrow afternoon and its supposed to warm up for the day, cats can go outside for more than 5 minutes.
