Here the DOT have spring, fall safety blitzes and in between when they feel like it. The Saskatoon City Police also have commercial truck units roaming around.
It was a nice day but now the wind has picked up and the clouds rolled in, looks wet and windy for Mother`s day.
Good evening Morris, John and other dropper byers.
Had a bit of a thunderstorm late last night, was cloudy and cooled off a bit from yesterday. Got the slow to prep part of the load on and moved my tire stacks over, tomorrow is slicing and dicing heavy metal so that should be fun. Hopefully I can load all my light metal on Sunday and get the heavy metal on, would like to make my run on Monday but for sure by Tuesday.
Good evening Perry.
Something nasty weather wise is brewing here, looks like lousy timing for the local swap meet.
I spent part of the day cleaning up junk and gathering scrap metal for recycling, a friend mentioned that unprepared steel is over $100 a tonne.
I hope your info is better than mine, Rolly's brother mention $54 a ton, he works in a metal shop but I don't think they bring back steel or he hasn't been there for a while. Will find out soon what its worth.
We're having some rain tonight and theres 2 days of scattered showers for next week.
My friend is usually right, I`ll check Monday and hopefully it is $100. I also have some aluminum airplane sections but they are pretty bulky.
Likely what ever you are getting tonight we`ll get tomorrow, 90% change of rain Sunday and a pretty cool week coming up.
Weather weenie is all over the place with whether it'll rain or not, only thing consistant is 14 with scattered showers for the next few days. I don't mind that as I've got some hard dirty work to do. Hope your buddy is right as that would be a bonus, I'm running on a $60 guess and am hoping I'm low. Budgeted $130 for the dump run but it only cost $58 so that helped, budget the bills high and the income low, usually works out for the better.
That`s about the time I quit following scrap prices, too many ups and downs. Hopefully aluminum is up, I`d like to finally get rid of those airplane parts.
I just googled 'How much does scrap metal pay in canadian', saw prices for steel that ran from 140 to 205 nt. Interesting, but most places were Ontario quotes.
