I've got to much work to do to come out of retirement for a job.
Prepping this first load is taking a long time, didn't realize how much I had to break down. Decided to add some 2 x 6s to the box sidewalls as this first load will be big but light.
A big boot to the weather, will it ever quit raining so farming can start?

I avoid light loads, they hardly pay for my fuel so I take them to my RM reclamation center which is close by. At least the RM will get a few dollars when the crusher comes in.
Ice cream break time, its been a bit to warm for me this afternoon. The neighbor next door asked me how I have time to get my stuff done, he noticed that when I water my grass someone approaches me wanting to get something done at their place, laughed it off. Go out this morning to water grass and by the time I was done, I had loaded 15 sidewalk stones and needed to fix the lady across the streets mower. Needed Sawzall blades anyway and the plug and filter were an easy pickup, wound up mowing her lawn. Can't complain as I made $50 by being seen watering my grass. No wonder I don't get much done, lol, sure don't need a job.
Comes in handy, won't make me rich but it sure has helped to stock the freezer and cupboards and the work comes to me. My golf course in the backyard customer called and needs his concrete step repaired at a rental property so thats a full day with a low cost, this is looking like a strong season which will come in handy.
Going to make a big load of this scrap as its 4 blocks to 52nd and a 70 block straight run to the recycler, no scales so it won't matter if I'm a ton and a half over weight. Made a dent in the scrap heap today and tomorrow I take on the main work area, will have a big load on board.
That reminds me that I need a concrete steps repaired at my rental property, the parging is coming off. I think that the steps are ok.
No cops with portable scale running around Calgary?
DOT runs around with them but right now they're working the dump roads, Stoney trail and Deerfoot trail. as long as I make the load look light nobody will look at me. I have a 88 F450 cab thats all cut down to size and that will cover the 2 truck frames that are on board. I think I'll take picks of the load as it builds up and post them on my thread.
The DOT is usually looking for loose loads, theres always ladders, windows, lumber, tools and equipment falling off of trucks around here. These characters spend so much time smoking dope and drinking that they forget to tie off, safety their loads or set their boomers on their chains. I almost hit a 32" cleanup bucket once, it was in the middle of the lane that I turned into. At Wards ground services 2 guys showed up and gave me a stupid look when I asked where the trailer they were pulling was, it was 50' away from the fort at the Fort Calgary park. They forgot about the chains and pinning the pintle. One guy left Ingersol Rand after loading up about 40 ground thaw barrels and showed up at the yard with 3 left on the truck. Ken down the street lost his siding jacks one day and they were 16' long and mounted to his ladder rack, he never noticed them falling off his truck even though 5' of them were sticking out past his windshield and above his head. To damn drunk to see past his eyebrows. The city is restricting days of operation at the landfills to save money so theres a lot of overweight and unsafe trucks sowing up. When I get stopped they see the condition of the truck and pass over it and ask about the load and I'm gone in 2 minutes, helps having my insurance and registration in hand when they walk up to the window. In normal provinces they have safety blitzes and take 30% of the trucks off the road, but not here.
