Another day done, finally get to start my clean up tomorrow, will be nice to have some open space. Wonder how much weight I'll haul down to the recycler, don't think they pay much but at least there will be some aluminum, copper and small rad cores for a trip if it's worth while. Warm enough to be a good day for working but it's supposed to heat up a bit towards the weekend.
Is Dryden pretty much a day trip for you John?
Hopefully no frost tonight but just to be safe I`ll put my pressure washer inside tonight.
Usually when I hauled in a load of scrap steel I didn`t get a lot more than about 2-3 times my fuel costs. Aluminum and copper should pay a lot better. I have quite a few rad cores, I`m not sure if I should strip the steel brackets off or just take them in as is.
Lucky for me Federal metals is only 15 minutes away, unfortunately I think the rate is only about $50 a ton and I doubt if I have 2 tons all together. The valuable stuff that I have will be a small amount also, but who knows, I might get lucky, ha.
I`m only about 20 some minutes away but it`s across town and with a big truck it takes me at least couple of hrs. Is that $50 a ton prepared, 3 ft or less lengths, or unprepared?
I think thats unprepared, everything that I'll be bringing in will be 3' or under as it loads easier and tighter. Theres quite a bit of 3/16, 1/4" for the second load and maybe an engine block to.
