Hot and muggy out today, can feel the new weather coming in.
Just got back from the recycler, they wrote me up as mixed steel and paid out at $100 a ton. Weight was 3220 and I got $161 for the load, not gravy money but better than a kick in the dick.
Off to the registry to register the 1 ton for the year, doing this one through the bank as I'm under financial review again and need to make sure I look poor and as destitute as I can. The other truck is in cash so that the second one doesn't show up on my statement, makes it easier for me to claim part of my insurance is for the house. lol
Damned government auditors, I get to go through this every year to maintain my $126 a month and medical coverage. It's the medical that I need to maintain as it can get real expensive really fast.
No S for me please, I have way too much junk & I'm not good at purging
It`s a lesson I finally learned, it`s better to walk away from something I ''just might need later'' than having to get rid of it later.
Hello Grant, Perry and John.
It`s 23°C here today, some sun and some clouds.
At least that $161 for your load is worth while, I`ve hauled bigger loads for less when the price was down.
The government will do anything to get out paying out, one year when my investments actually paid out a bit more than usual my pension was cut back.
This all goes back to the 6 months that Jim Prentice was our unelected Premier. He gave his 'Albertans should take a good look in the mirror' speech and brought back Ralph Kleins punish the sick and the children programs. He told the teachers union, bigger classes or lay offs, told AHS Executive Directors that if they lose an appeal to over rule the ruling and then declared pension income as non deductible income and clawed it back, some people lost their houses and some had to move into shelters. He gave himself a 5% pay cut, cost him a total of $5500 from his gross, his cut backs cost me $9700 off my net the first year and a further $6400 the second year, now their going after $715 a month. Even if I win the Executive director will over rule it and I lose, had 5 final appeals the first year and 8 this last 2 years. Because of how many people this affected and how big the total $ amount involved the new government can't afford to reverse the program change.
Not bad for an unelected Premier that only lasted 6 months and lost the snap election he called.
Went down to prep this truck to bring it home tomorrow. The guy is supposed to have Alzheimers, problem is that his wife and daughter are the ones who are whacked. Every second sentence they speak, they're talking about something different. I found him easy to deal with when they were gone, he was focused, could recall things, maintained his composure and when the daughter showed up she managed to irritate us both equally.
Morning all!! Windy but still warm this morning, rain to come in this afternoon and winds to 100k. Hopefully all gone by Friday for blast off for Alaska, as don't want to pull 5th in that wind. Off for 6 weeks, will check in when back as not sure of internet along the way. Have a great one. Darrell
It`s been very windy here for the last few days and now it`s trying to rain, looks like we`re in for a few wet days.

Sounds like a real gong show, hope it works out.
Have a good day Grant.
