Sync 3 v2.2 Update
It sounds a little more daunting that it is. I'll list it out here for you guys, you really shouldn't have any issues.
1. Freshly format a usb stick with FAT32 or exFAT. 4GB or larger should be fine.
2. Unzip all of the files in the update and copy them over to your USB stick.
3. All you need to do to split up the install is swap out the .lst file
Open the autoinstall.lst file. Create a new txt file on your desktop and copy and paste the contents in there, just so you have the full thing.
Edit the autoinstall.lst file thats on your USB stick and delete these lines (the Item # and Open # will be different, dont worry):
Item1 = HN1T-14G381-SA
Open1 = SyncMyRide\HN1T-14G381-SA.tar.gz
5. Now eject your usb stick and go plug it into the truck. Turn your truck on. I had my truck plugged into a trickle charger as I was dicking around with this for a while and didnt want to leave it running for so long. You can run your truck or plug it into a charger. It takes about 15-20 minutes. Some have said longer, some shorter. Either way, after you turn on the truck, just let it sit for a while and you'll eventually see a "Software Upgrading..." at the top. Just wait until this goes away and a message will pop up saying it was successful and changes will apply on next boot.
6. Now, take out the USB stick, go plug it back into your computer. Edit the .lst file again and this is what you want the entire thing to say:
; Gen 3 - Consumer Assembly Update - NonNav/NEU - 17011
[SYNCGen3.0_ALL]
Item1 = HN1T-14G381-SA
Open1 = SyncMyRide\HN1T-14G381-SA.tar.gz
Options = AutoInstall
Nothing else should be in there.
Go and repeat the steps above and let it do its thing. When its finished, completely turn off the truck and open your door so Sync shuts down. (Protip: you can hold the power button and the > button on the radio to reboot Sync).
Once you fully boot up again, you should instantly notice it looks different with different colors on the menu bars. You can go into settings and you'll see you have 2.2_17011 installed.
Boom.
Where can I download the v2.2 so I can try the manual install from USB? I looked back through this thread and didn't see it, I might have missed it though.
Thanks in advance,
Harry

The price that the dealer quoted you is right in line what dealers are charging for the upgrade.
Remember that it`s also best to upgrade to the new USB hub as well so you should purchase one via a Ford dealer on eBay instead of at your dealership because they`ll charge you for that install as well and it`s something you can do yourself in under 5 minutes or a little longer if it`s your first time.
Hope this helps.

I thought that the new USB hub was only for Apple Car Play. I use Android Auto and everything works pretty well.
Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
The reason that I mentioned it was because I wasn`t sure if you were using an iPhone and wanted to use CarPlay.
Let us know if you were able to locate the files and how your update went.
Thanks,
Harry
I upgraded mine to 2.3 from the official myford website, using usb stick, and vin number and it showed 2.3 available so i upgraded, now i have blank screen on navigation. Still have the button on bottom of screen but when i click it no maps. Already tried master reset, power button and seek up reset, re-installing same, installing unoffcial 3.0 upgrade, still have black screen, was hoping to be able to go back to 2.0. I did the upgrade cause i was under the impression that 2.0 will not work with carplay.
Any help appreciated, thanks.
