Note to self....somehow try to figure out how to make sure the 02 sensors top part (of the sensor itself) and the elec connector will not hit the inner fenderwell or the fire wall. I am not sure how to suggest that. Are you running any kind of 1" body lift?
My 76 got "clearanced" by the PO and it has a 1" body lift.
Good point. I'm a little worried about that also, and I'm not sure how to measure that either. I am running a 2" body lift; and I just have exhaust tacked together right now. So, I may twist it a bit more toward the transmission. I'm also planning on installing another O2 bung in the other header collector and plugging it for the time being, (maybe a standalone gauge in the future) so that is an option if the right doesn't work out.
I went and got ol "sketchy" back from my EFI wiring guy yesterday, and we talked about the 02 sensors wiring and placement/position of them. That is what prompted me to say something. I think you are going to be ok as far as the fire wall since they are so far fwd on your shorty headers. The main concern to me is the innerfenderwell. I will try to figurer out your position of them (by looking at your pics and see where it falls on ether of my Bronco's.
If you can get me a tape measurement from the front of the block and how far off the edge of the block (to the 02 sensor) I might be able to get you a better idea. I also think with a 2" body lift and rotating it towards the trans a little you will be ok. How long are your 02 sensors?
FYI I put 33's on of so it was not as high and makes working under the hood easier for him. I do not have let off when this ol thing bangs into something.
I'll get you some measurement after while. I'm pretty sure it will clear the inner finder well, I had the headers on my old 302. I am more concerned about the fire wall. I'll get you some numbers and see what you think.
What?? lol Yea ok so it is a little (well A LOT) beat up, but it has the OEM 76 Bronco speedo, ok so yea it is in a hacked up Bronco dash. It has a Bronco w/s frame and yea ok a hacked up Bronco grill. I have a spare parts grill I am going to take the repair pieces and weld in at least to get the FORD back in there. As far as the fenders...ok so yea a little beat up, but the SIL got it that way.
Get me some measurements and I can try to get you a idea where they are going to fall out at.
How far from the block to trans connection seam back to the 02 bung? I figure 2.5" to 3" for your 02 bung (out/off from the block). So interesting to figure out that Sketchy has a 3" body lift. I need to remedy that down to a 2" or even 1". So you are running shorty block huggers correct? I have long tube's. 8" from fire wall to in line with starter elec (fwd edge) connection hdwr. Or you can see the firewall is about 8" back from starter connection hdwr. 22" from front of EFI block to the fire wall. Maybe a better shot? 22" to the fire wall. Passenger side and the fire wall/floor pan in relation to the 02 sensor. And remember I have a 3" body lift. Dvr side is not a issues at all.
I'm going to rotate the header reducer towards the transmission just a bit and it will be fine. I'm also going to install a O2 bung in the left-hand reducer just for good measure.
