Almost a shame to put a body on top of that beautiful frame and all that hard work, but it sure looks good together.

Right on Tim, well done so far !!
if a shim under the trans mount isn't enough clearance, maybe modify the valve cover ....

Have you 100% the hood to intake clearance ? Now might be the time to think about a 1-in body lift?

That might take care of both little problems.

Before I'd modify the valve cover, I'd modify the firewall.

What engine do you have? 5.0 ?
I have the 351W and the drivers side head (not the valve cover) clears the firewall by less than 1/4 inch. I was anticipating issues but so far it has not been.

Also had issues with headers. I have long tubes and the driver side rubbed the frame rail but when hot I went down with a pry bar and levered it a bit but only gained a small amount of clearance. After logging about 500 miles I went down to look and it now has more than 1/2" clearance probably due to pressure being applied when tubes were hot while driving.

351w to firewall clearance:
your engine looks to sit lower and further back then mine

351W based 427 stroker Hence the 4-link, not so much for off road as it is keep things from twisting up.

Did you get the couple of minor issues straightened out? What is happening now? Stay motivated, like eating a elephant, one bite at a time.

Not much, I have the inner finder cut away from the header on the passenger side. I have the inner finder cut but not put back together yet for the shock clearance on the drivers side. I think I'm going to modify the valve cover for clearance, just haven't got to it yet. Been looking at the Hydroboost I have I think I'm going to modify the mounting of it as well. I have a list of things I need to order, not much for Black Friday savings but maybe a little.
