So has anyone here been out to Portsmouth Island on the Core Banks? I'm looking at booking a cabin out there in May, from the National Park Service, and just thought I'd check to see if anyone knows anything about it.

Marty,
If people show up, I won't stop them. However, from what I am understanding, you have to pre-book the ferry and it's like 75 round trip, if your vehicle is under 18 ft. 90 if it isn't. Trucks will need 4wd, since there are no roads. But on a good note. It looks like there will be a couple extra bunks, since the group I'm going with is only up to 10 people. Of course, 5 of those are kids, and I'm sure the parents would love to have an extra adult to watch the kids!
Bob, how did the housing look? I remember having issues with I think the idle screw on Motorcraft carbs. If it gets tightened down to hard, it will actually flare the pin hole it meters and cause the carb to always be off, and never adjust right. I believe on the j-10 I went through 3 motorcraft carbs (2150's i think) for that issue.
Nice and cold this morning.... I've heard mention of that dreaded S and I word happening today. Bout to head to New river flightline where it's always atleast 10 degrees colder than advertised. Atleast the work truck has a good heater!
Well who has plans this weekend other than staying warm
I'll get out of the house later this morning. Gotta cover my butt for Valentines day tomorrow. Myself, it's a BS holiday, but if it keeps peace in the house, I'm in.
First of all I hope all of you folks are staying warm. I'll be getting out in a little while to take the bride out to eat. Today is our 34th anniversary so no excuses is gonna work today, or I'm mud...lol. Started the day off right by gifting her and the girls a trip to the nail spa this morning.
I have a few outdoor chores and things to do but it ain't happening at least until the middle of next week. I'll just sit here keeping the cats warm and making sure that the Netflix works as it should.
