Myself, I wouldn't like it.
You're the only person I know with a newer F150, so I had to ask.
I understand. I'm of two minds when it comes to new technology, but mostly I try to embrace it. The idea with new technology is to help reduce the emissions usually, and after working in a shop, I find that I do prefer a cleaner running engine. It's less mess to work on, and less crude to invade my lungs. That being said, I also don't like a car that does something that takes me out of control, IE, if for some reason it doesn't start back up, or I need to move quick. So like I said, two minds.
You should go test drive a new 3.5 EB today Bob. Make sure you put it in Sport Mode. I'm sure glad I went back to a 6 cylinder.

Before we bought the 2011 I have now, I had my mind set that I wanted to drive a new Charger and Challenger (just to play with one) and I wanted to drive a new Eco Boost and give it a good run. Then I found the truck I have now, in Maryland, and forgot about everything else, I didn't do any of it.
But maybe it's being around a little longer than some, but I don't like most of the new stuff that vehicles do. Like you mentioned it takes some control away. And I want all of the say so of what ever I'm driving. Now some vehicles can even park themselves. When I got my drivers license a few years ago, that was part of the test
I received my first of two appraisals for Ka'Bluey, $5400. I would have guessed half of that amount. Now I wait for the second, then go to the insurance company. The Indmnity bond will be for 1.5 times the higher amount. Then to the license office with all of the paperwork to get a title.
I did find out that the bonds aren't that much money, $100 for the first $1000 then $15 for each additional $1000.
Larry, what class do you normally run in at the race. 1 or 2a? I was looking at the Lee County mud sports website, and it just got me curious. Al looking at the Lee County mud sports website, and it just got me curious. Are The classes pretty much the same from one complex to another?
I run in a super street or hot street class. I think if I'm not mistaken it's there 2a class. I have only ran my ford there 1 time and it was what they called a "9 second" race.
I guess I'm showing my age also. I prefer the simplicity of the older vehicles. I don't need nor desire 15000 buttons on the dash to hear a few tunes or to adjust the heat/air. Maybe it's a muscle memory thing where I don't have to read everything before making a selection. What was wrong with the sliders/twist ***** for heat and 2 **** radios...lol. I would rather be watching where I'm driving.
I've had more than one young person ask me how I drive the F-250 with a manual tranny and T-case. I guess it would interfere with them playing with all of the dash controls. I replaced the head unit a couple of years ago and I hate the thing. I should have went on ebay and bought an OEM. The new one should have come with a warning...NOT FOR USE BY PERSONS OVER 25.
With decent weather heading our way this next week, I think I'll get that carb off of Ka'Bluey and rebuild it. And hopfully be able to get the pinion and axle seals, and rear brake shoes.

That's what I was thinking after reading through the criteria for what was allowed on the Lee County site. Thanks for the information... I just have to wonder... how well the 1 ton would do if I decided to go that route with it.. more just speculation than any actual desire to mud race...

I glanced at thier rules again, I'd be in 2a because my truck won't pull 17" of vacuum. Other than that I fit there class 1.
