Looks like we're in for two days of something. Hope it's snow and not freezing rain/ice. Going out to move the generator and snow blower into position. Trying to cover all bases.
Better safe than sorry. Before we moved I had all of that stuff too, snow blower, generator, chain saw and at least 2 cords of firewood on the ready.
I did get to the store, so if we lose power I have stuff to cook outside, CHILI fixns, and a 12 pack.
We were supposed to go on a "polar bear ride" Saturday fir the jacksonvile soup kitchen with the local CMA. Not sure that we are still gonna do that since they are calling for sleet and snow now though.
Yea but if it's icy I don't think 2 wheels will work to well...
We are only getting rain and I'm really hoping it will go ahead and get out of here. I may end up skipping that ride anyway since my truck needs a water pump and thermostat pit in it in a very bad way. I guess the fact that the truck is nearly 20 years old, and has well over 200k miles on it and they're both stock, it's time they go bad.
Ice is so heavy it's bringing down some pretty big branches, they sound like gunshots going off, guess it's time to cook dinner and settle in for the evening.
Yea Im impressed it's lasted this long, the bearing is just starting to growl. The seal while cold has been leaking for a year now. I tend to push off working on my truck... the wife's car gets fixed quickly though.
I've started getting prices for the parts that I need to get for Ka'Bluey. Or do I go ahead and get my two appraisels paid for It looks like they're going to run at least $100 each, I have way wonder if NC isn't getting a cut of that money
All yesterday evening, whenever I went outside I'd hear nothing but tree branches snapping. Pop. Pop. Pop. But my power never went out for more than 5 minutes at a time. I'm waiting for daylight so I can see better now, but so far it looks like everything is still frozen over. More cabin fever for me I guess I probably won't bother trying to venture out until Sunday.
I said I wasn't going out in it, then 30 minutes later my daughter comes and asks me to take her to work. Wow its a wasteland out there (Smithfield area) seems like every neighborhood I passed was dark, and the roads were a sheet of ice!
I may venture out later today we haven't touched a vehicle since I got home from our dinner Thursday night. We have better than an inch of a Sleet, Ice, Snow mixture in the everything, and a little bit of snow coming down now.
I have no problem being out in the snow, but that ice is a different beast.
