I really think it's because it's 35 or older, and from another state. But the VIN on the frame is correct, but........after the cab swap, the cab has a different VIN, as well as the drivers side door, also a different VIN.
But it's moving along pretty fast so far. I hope to know today if I have to get Ka'Bluey appraised by two different places. Then it sounds like I'll have to have an Indemnity Bond for 1.5 times the value for 3 years. And that will basically be if anybody can prove that they own that truck, that bond will pay them that 1.5 times the value.
And the way I read this mess, I may not see the title for 3 years But as long as I keep em' and can drive em' this is what I have to do.
Buy local!!!!
The NC DOT inspector did show up yesterday, and we have our NCS number on the cab and frame. I'm checking around this morning for places that will give me a value of the truck, and I do have to get that Indemnity Bond. But I'll also get the title within 30 days or so after it's all said and done. At one point something that I read mentioned that a title may not be released until after three years.

Stay warm if you can!
I wonder if it would have made a difference if you had tag and titled it in Missouri, and then transferred the title to NC, just like you had moved.
anyway... all this cold air, and I'm getting cabin fever... looking forward to getting out for dinner tomorrow night. Hoping it's good! But I am about ready for more of that Lexington stuff.

Josh, I don't think that would have a difference at all.
I think if it's at least 35 years old, and from another state, you'll have a to go through the License/Theft inspection.
on another note, how's the weather for everyone. I just stepped out on the deck, and about slipped. It's starting to ice over, I guess we really are in winter now.
I noticed a little bit of sleet when I took Rocky out for the last time yesterday.
I'm hoping to get me a couple of appraisels this morning on Ka'Bluey. I already have the battery charger on em', I know he's gonna be a bear to start.
Looks like we're in for two days of something. Hope it's snow and not freezing rain/ice. Going out to move the generator and snow blower into position. Trying to cover all bases.
