Yup. The Tremec 600 has adjustable shifter placement locations. Normally the shifter would be located further back on the 6 bolt panel just behind its current position. I opted for the mid shift which places the shifter more forward. It will work with a bench seat and a straight shifter handle. Its a 3bill option on the Tremec.
There are more bills than seen. Every time a package shows up from Summit or Jegs, the wife needs a pair of shoes or purse to even it out.:-(. I could probably do my interior in her never used purse leathers.
Nick, Where is your oil pressure sensor located? In removing the huge oil filter base and cooler, I lost the mounting option for the oil pressure sensor. I'm wondering where it is located on the crate engine?
Your build looks great and is coming along nicely,
I've looked into the oil filter relocation plates as I might need to go that route. I'll find out soon. They should come with a port to install your sensor. At least the Ford Racing and the Moroso ones do AFAIK.
For motor mounts I'm using these from Tinman Fabrication.
I also buttoned up some of the smaller details on the transmission. It's all this little stuff I like to finish as I work on each component. Its a good feeling to check off components from my list. I'm using an electric speedometer signal, so there is a large hole for the mechanical spedo that's needs blocked off. I used a block off plate from Forte.
I also got my transmission mount. Its just a universal mount for the Tremec.
The mount and spedo plug look like this installed.
I located a GM style pigtail plug for the supplied electric speedometer sensor, also a new reverse light switch and pigtail. The gold colored reverse switch is being replaced with the one above it with included pigtail. I'm planning on running a discrete reverse light somewhere. They're handy.
I'm still having problems with the oil filter relocate. I will probably have to go back to the filter mounted on the engine. Can you see a part # on your oil filter base and the oil sensor? Ford racing says I can't use the Moroso relocate adapter because it's not compatible with the 2015 engine. They are saying to use a 2015 Mustang GT 5.0 filter adapter that has the sensor port on it. I have a #FR3Z-6881-B, or Fr3Z-6188-G as possibilities but don't want to buy anything else that's wrong. I've already got $300 plus into wrong oil filter relocate parts that fit 2010-2014 engine, but not the 2015. There are only a few using the 2015 Coyote and most of them are on the Factory Five Forums. They have been helpful, but I feel like I'm hijacking their threads. Does the 2015 Ford Racing control pack wiring, plug onto the oil sensor OK? You only have one oil pressure sensor right? Also can you measure how far down the filter base is from where it bolts into the engine block. The surface the filter screws onto. The wiring pigtail that goes to your oil sensor looks to be a branch off of a longer wire bundle. Where does the wire continue on to? On my engine that wire goes to another oil sensor that is also part of the bigger F150 oil filter adapter. It is called a variable oil sensor solenoid, or something to that effect. It is new to the 2015 engines as far as I can tell. That's the part I can't find a place to put into the system and FRP say's the computer needs the input from it to function properly.
So I got my cab mount kit from mid50. Front and rears. I mounted the cab to properly test fit the engine/trans. I wasn't sure how thick the rubbers were, so wanted to get that sorted and have the cab at the proper height so I could just do this once. They went in great. Nice product.
Test fitting the engine went as expected. Clearance issues. All is well except the oil pan. Working the engine in carefully, it was a tight fit. Would have been easier with help, but its thanksgiving and nobody wants to get dirty and greasy except me ;-).
Here is the issue. The oil pan has a "bubble" on it. You will see a curve on one side of the pan, and a "bubble" on the other. Its this "bubble" that interferes with the sway bar. Check it out.
Also keep in mind I moved the suspension crossmember/sway bar forward about 4 inches along with the wheel wells. If this was in the stock location it would be causing some major issues that I'm glad I don't have to deal with.
The drivers side looks OK.
But that bubble hits the sway bar on the passenger side.
To fix this issue I went the easy way out. I ordered a Moroso oil pan. From the measurements they list on the web site it should work perfect. We will see. I know Rimrock had his oil pan augmented for the same reason. So if this new oil pan doesn't fit... That's the route I'll have to take.
Good news is the shifter came out in the perfect location.
And also the oil filter location looks promising. Once I get the new oil pan I can lower the engine down about 2". I should JUST be able to spin off the filter.
That motor looks monstrous in there Nick but in a very nice way, sorry to hear about the pan interference, hope it all works out when the new one arrives.
