My wife and I love the front living layouts. They feel like the most spacious layouts out there. 3 kids makes it hard to get the layout to work for us though haha
We have been looking at Toy Haulers mainly, but my wife just fell in love with a 38FLGS. Looking at having one built with most of the options checked. Anyone want to suggest something with a similar floorplan that I should look at? Or maybe you want to warn me off of Jayco? Let me have it.
We have a 37RLWS and absolutely love it. Especially the auto leveling. Also have a residential fridge which is awesome. It was prepped for solar and I added (4) 100w panels. We have not boondocked much yet, but, plan to. Wife is retired and we plan to head south for winters. I have 5 years of work left, but, have the luxury of working remote. I really like your floor plan better. The kitchen in the front may add some hitch weight, but, I really like the extra living room space up front. Good luck!
do you like yours airlifts. I don't because I can't ever get them air right. I already have the overload springs on mine. The person I had bought it from had 350 springs put in it. It gets to bucking going down the roads. Sometimes it feels like my front wheels are off the ground. No matter what I never seem to get them air thing right.
I do like the air lifts. Took a lot of the bounce from bridges out. I also added Bilstien shocks which helped a ton. You may need to add those as well. Stock OEM shocks just don't cut it. You also may need to keep adjusting the pressure until you hit that sweet spot. Good luck!
Trailer ordered! Hope she likes it. I would have gone for the Steel Paint exterior, but then again I kinda don't care. Happy wife....
I'm being told to expect a May delivery, I just knocked on wood. Hopefully I can install the little Cummins Onan 8000 diesel generator and all the associated bits without too much trouble. Like I really really hope I open the thing up and find that it will be relatively simple to get it done. Why aren't diesel generators more popular? Just a cost thing?

This is the wrong color, but it's an actual picture of a 38FLGS

Diesel generators are heavier and more expensive. The diesel fuel would need a warming system to account for very cold temperatures.
Propane fueled generators are a bit more expensive than gasoline, but you don't have to worry about the fuel going bad. However, you are limited in locations you can go to for filling the propane tank if it is built in.
Very nice Roy, did you order the new trailer with 'slide out covers' ?? ........
Yep, got the slide toppers. Basically went for everything they had minus a queen bed option, and butler's pantry in place of half bath. Oh and no propane generator.
Congrats Roy. Had we not got the steal of a deal on our 37RLWS, we would have opted for the FL model. One awesome thing about that is all the exterior storage. We are again looking at RV's.... ugh.......

Just got word they are not going to do the run of 38FLGS' until summer, so should be a 2023 instead. Told me he could get me into a similarly equipped Northpoint build in the original time frame, but I passed on that. This one is what my wife wanted. We may pick up a used something or other from the dealer and then trade it back in a few months later when the Pinnacle arrives....patience.
Wow! Those axles look to be a good bit more forward than typical on fivers, I would assume a little lighter pin weight but with a bit more tail swing. Nice looking unit though!
