Yes, it a heavy rig when fully loaded. The 7.3 fits my needs.

Its funny because I have been up to 110 feet thru Montana, Wyomng and both Dakotas with proper permits in the big rigs. And Wyoming does not allow three trailers of any length.
Michigan is 75 ft but you need an endorsement to pull double R's (very simple 20-minute multiple choice test at the SOS). Not sure how that works with out of state licenses.

After more than six years towing our 2019 DRV Mobile Suites Houston more than 48K miles all over the country, I'm finally getting around to posting a pic on this thread. Our 2017 F450 KR has done a phenomenal job towing this beast, with no issues through that whole time. The trailer is 46' 7" long and scales at 25,265 with empty water tanks.

We're starting to think about replacing the truck as we plan to RV for another 5 or 6 years and we just hit 100K on the odometer, but I'm not sure that's in the cards at this point in life. Besides, I need Ford to give us a truck color that goes with the rig.

Thanks Jim, I haven't been on the forum for quite a while. Recently, I've begun to think about replacing my truck and also learning about some of the new towing features. It's good to know how much information is still here.

At 100K miles you have alot of life left in it.

The only real thing (IMHO) that you would gain with a newer model would be the 10 speed trans.

They also went with a 9th injector but did away with the ability to disable the auto-regen.

Change your trans, diff's, transfer case and give it some fresh coolant and then see what things look like.

Wow..some nice rigs on here!! Last trip with this rig. A few weeks later the camper was totaled during hurricane Ida. Sold the truck to the contractor re-building our home. Ended up buying son in laws F250 to tow this travel trailer. Both truck are White Gold with Caribou trim.

The last trip with this camper before it was totaled by Hurricane Ida's 150 mph winds.

'17 F250 pulling a Cougar 25RDS travel trailer. Couples camper but this is all we need.

The hurricane took it out before the crappy $12/hr welds did.

well with it in that position you should be able to check the underside for damage.

Thanks for the input Scott, You're helping to nudge me in the direction that feels best. I've got a Ford extended warranty on the truck (the second extended warranty) that runs another eighteen months. It has been serviced religiously at every 5K mile interval and only at Ford dealerships.

The idea of the 10 speed tranny and high output engine are very intriguing to me, along with many of the new towing features, but maybe I will just hold off until the warranty expires at least. Besides, they really don't have a color that works with my RV right now. The Darkened Bronze Metallic gets close, but when I see it in the flesh, I almost can't tell it from black.

I tow a DRV with a 2023 and compared to my older Fords it is noticeable the difference but find the towing features useless.
