1973 F100 - Grumpy
75-79 they went to the twist in kind. lights work good, would just like to replace lenses rather then trying to cut and snip wires.

So I cleaned him up the other day! Grumpy was getting pretty muddy!
Then I went on a road trip! On the fender is the original dealership info.
And well I checked out where it was and found out its a hour from me.
It's long gone but the building is still there!
What it looked like in its glory days
Check out the older vans as they should have the same size tail light, maybe even the old snub nose ones. Van tail lights aren't as exposed as truck tail lights and might be in better shape.
Anyhow is C6AZ-9450-D the default part number for a 1973 302 exhaust donut?
I did have an incident with the hood. I think someone was under the hood, possibly to steal the battery and did not close it all the way. I got onto the highway and the hood came up... didnt hit windshield but wrecked both hinges.... had to bend them to get the hood to close...
video of how grumpy sounds now.

Got a buddy that will hook me up with some hinges and bolts for mine.
Now working on the washer pump. I got the kit in from auto krafters and it JUST fit but now the washer pump runs but doesnt pump. yay.
Got the washers working correctly. Its actually scary how well they work lol.
Front brakes messed up. Not sure what happened... its been parked since may now...
I got grumpy fixed. Thanks to youtube monies, I have saved up enough to get it done. I replaced both front bearings, disc, brake calipers, pads, flex lines, and shocks all around.
It is nice to have working brakes lol. Also now with all new shocks, IT DOES NOT BOUNCE UNCONTROLLABLY in parking lots lol
Still gotta get someone to look at the carb and possibly bite that bullet and get the choke kit for it.
Well I checked that passenger side breather and found it full of oil! Kinda freaking out, the oil level wouldnt go down, could not figure out how the head was full of oil like this.. So went and got some hex drivers and took the valve cover off............ And found this... That grommet for the breather was actually a PLUG!!! I don't know how buddy that helped me or myself missed that! Felt so stupid...
So I cut the bottom out of that plug and made it into a proper grommet! I re-installed that breather (btw it was not the first breather I had tried in there!) and buttoned it back up.
I routed the vac line from the carb to the driver side PCV valve
I then took it to the local carwash and gave Grumpy's heart a bath. Surprisingly it didnt object that and fired right up and drove home. Usually Grumpy lives up to his name lol!!
He was doing so well I decided to take him to a car show the next weekend! He did really well. I had put about 120km on him at highway speeds and NO OIL or dipstick being pushed out! And a couple times I put it to the floor to make sure!
Now my only problem is that at 75mph and above I get a good driveline shimmy in him.. Think its the steady bearing for the 2 piece driveshaft.. Will have to wait and see!
