Here are pics of the crossmember I use. One of mine came under a C6 and the other came under an NP435, but they work perfectly under a ZF5 on a 35M/400 by moving them back ~3/4" and drilling new holes in the frame. But, that's not an exact dimension so check your setup as your small-block ZF may be different from my big-block tranny.
The holes in the top of the frame are a bear to drill. I pulled the cab mount bolts and raised the cab by ~4" to ensure I didn't hit the cab floor when I drilled through and so I could get the bolts in after drilling. Then I took a right-angle drill to the job and cut a bit off to shorten the length even more. As said, it isn't easy but it needs to be done as you need those top brackets.

Here's the number on it: E0TA-7108-AD
And installed under a C6/NP208 combo on Rusty - the rebuilt 208 with no leaks:
And that's not why I need the different top cover. The taller cover is needed because when the tranny is where it is supposed to be it sticks up higher than the original cover will clear. And if you don't put the tranny where it is supposed to be you are asking for all sorts of weird driveline problems as you will change the angles. There's an angle that the tranny is supposed to make to the driveshaft, and another angle between the shaft and the pinion of the rear axle. You should not change that.
No I'm moving my cross member back to get the correct angles. But I'm referring to the trans cover since most issues I've seen have to do with 2wd trucks going to 4x4 and having issues with their existing one.
I'm going to call it the trans mount.
I removed it from my cross member and left it on the trans, along with the guy I bought the other trans from.
Dylan - I need a translator when reading your stuff. And I'm not sure I'm alone on this. Could you please be more complete or thorough in your statements? You said "I'm going to call it the trans mount." But I have no idea what you meant. PLEASE spend more time in your typing. I just spent 30 minutes getting pictures for you as I had to find the extra crossmember, clean it, take the pics, put them in an album, and then post. Please spend some time crafting your responses so I don't have to keep asking what you meant.
In the last picture you can see it more then the others.
It's bolted between the trans and the cross member by two bolts which are about three inches from the "ears"
Mine doesn't have that bracket?
Mine goes from rubber mount on the trans to the cross member.
Not a clue man.
The one I picked up is the same one my dad has in his(95 f250 psd, it has three holes in it)
Mine is the stock t18. Seeing how his fits the three holes, I'm going to give it a try with a little persuasion once I get back.
At least in my truck, the offset braces meant I only needed to drill one hole in the lower frame flange on each side.
The upper flange was fine.
Maybe '87 is different...
