Matthew - That's the plan. So probably any good brand will work under those conditions.

I think the oil is 10W-30.

It is 10W30. I wanted to buy Conoco again in the 15W40 , but they just got totally stupid with their prices. I can buy Rotella T about $75 a drum cheaper than Conoco Fleet Supreme and the Tulco oil is about $100 per drum cheaper than Rotella T.

I buy Delvac 15W40 for $12.47 per gallon. I remember 5 years ago it was like $8 per gallon. Sign of the times, eh?

I get 55 gallons for $480.00. That works out to $8.75 per gallon vs. $13 for Rotella or Chevron at the parts store.I have 2 Diesels. One uses 4 gallons per change and the other 3 gallons. I use a drum about every 2 years.

A drum would last us, 4-5 vehicles about 15 years.

I quit using rotella in my truck, as it would disappear in fairly large quantities fast. Switched to Delvac and it's been at the same level since I filled it in October.

Yeah, but you guys just use 6-7 quarts per change. I bought a drum of 10W30 with 4 gassers to service and after 2 years ending up selling half of it to Gary. I still have probably 8 gallons left.

My truck takes 7 with the filter filled to get it just a hair above the full mark. 318 in the van takes 7, and it burns some oil. My moms '97 Mazda 666 takes 3.5 quarts but it gets 4 anyways. My dads pickup takes 4-4.5 I believe. The Galaxie will take 6-6.5 quarts. They all get an oil change usually once a year. They don't get many miles put on them except for my truck and the van.

Congrat's on your 15,000th post Gary.

I was going to say about 450#, but figured Matthew had something else in mind.

That's a good looking carb! I hope it works as well as it looks, but everything I've read says it does. And, that reminds me - I need to call Tim to see how the dyno runs with the 750 version went.

Is This April Fool's Day?

Called Tim this morning and during the conversation he said the heads would be here today. Yeah, right! I didn't fall for that as this is April Fool's Day.

Then the doorbell rang and the distinct sound of a 10 cylinder engine suggested the UPS truck was in the driveway. And, sure enough, he brought the heads!
