Like we were talking earlier, that's impressive to keep the price down like that. And cheers to getting it done finally! You've really got me thinking about going this route. I could have a 366 done for pipes and chip re burn. I'm sure I should factor in a T500, but the 17 is doing well so far. My only concern is the fact that I don't really want a 366. I want big powa! Lol. That however is going to cost a lot more than 3k. Lol
Yes it will. I'm 4k into mine. And all I've bough so far is injectors, studs, pushrods, turbo, orings, forf grey silicone and a extra part that went in the oil pan
I still need to do head studs, springs and push rods, but that will wait until I build the engine on the stand. I think this truck is gonna do everything I need it to do with this set up, and it was affordable. I'd like to build something with really big power, but I'd like to build it mainly for the track.
Holy cow, I figured youd be in it for way more than $3000. But I guess you did a ton of stuff yourself and bought some used stuff. I applaud you!
Thanks JP. The only used thing I bought was the IC. Everything else was new stuff. It is actually closer to $2800, but I'm saying $3000 to allow for something I may have missed or didn't have a receipt for.
Tyler!!! Go finish Bills truck for us would ya?? Lol
A little behind...I would have went and helped him, but he only uses me for heavy lifting. He won't let me touch the cool stuff! So the only time he calls me is when he needs a tranny put in, then pulled, then put in again. lol
Looks good Bill. Can't wait to see, hear, and ride in it!
Came in for some lunch and to post a couple pics. The DP is in and all the IC piping is in. Only things left to do in the engine bay are put the fan and shroud back on and put the batteries back in.
Look at all the room around the DP!!!
Congrats on all the work you did on BIG RED it looks real nice, you do good work. I had to go back 10 pages to find the pics, I don't know maybe i missed them before or they were just a little out of focus for my old eyes. I can't wait to hear how it goes when you get it on the road
Thanks everybody! I wanna thank Travis for the help, Darin for the pics, Aaron for hooking me up with the IC, and everybody else for all their input and ideas.
