Okay, been gone since last Monday. Long story, went to the VA hospital last Monday morning, because the pain in my chest was getting worse, they ended up keeping me and doing a ton of tests, and determined it was pneumonia. So when the meds the were giving me did not seem to work they called in a respiratory therapist and he said it is not pneumonia, but does not know what it is, so he scheduled a Broncoscopy for 10am this morning, and that did not go well at all. Didn't even get past the prep when I started feeling pain in my right jaw, and my BP went up to 229!. They called a "code blue" and the next thing I know there are 4 more people in that room hooking me up to every machine known to man. I was given a shot of some kind, and within 2-3 minutes the BP had fallen back down to reasonable levels. The doctor cancelled the procedure, and I was sent to recovery for a bit, then back up to my room. Been a very eventful day. Most of last week was boring as I was in a private room with only a small TV to keep me company, or my laptop with no internet access.
I was moved to this room last night, and there is a pay per use internet option available, so I paid $19.95 for a week's worth of Comcast internet. (what a joke) that is how I can get on now. I am hoping to be able to leave tomorrow, unless we do another Broncoscopy. Then it will be Wednesday before I can leave. (assuming they don't find anything wrong with me that would require a hospital stay). So for the time being I am back! Got smart this time and went to the VA hospital, so since I am still classified as a homeless vet, it is totally free, not even a co-pay to worry about.
Joe, whenever my settlement check gets here I will be looking for a car trailer to do the car flipping business with. (will save me a ton of money over renting one from U-Haul every time I/we need one). However, since I don't live in that house on Fairmont anymore, I don't know where I will be able to store it. Medi-Cal is still not giving us a final lien amount, so Farmers is not wanting to issue the check. So I have no clue when that check will finally get here. However, there is a mandatory court meeting the 24th in which they will ask both parties if we have settled. So maybe we can get them to give us the check then.
It was a bit scary to go through, but I seem to be ok now. This stupid internet access I have sucks, wont stay connected for more than a few minutes at a time. taking forever to reply to emails.
Thanks guys, just wanted to post up so you know I am still alive. I feel fine now, and have no clue what caused the super high blood pressure. They had a CT scan done on me tonight at 6:30pm because they want to check my spleen. Why? I have no clue. But if the results are good, I should be able to leave tomorrow.
