Well, today is moving day so in about 30 minutes or so I will be busy most the day. If I get online at all it will be from a Mc Donalds as I will not have internet at my new place until Sometime Sunday afternoon. hope everyone has a great weekend, and can find a place to stay cool.
Yes, it is a single wide. It has a weird configuration, but I can live with it. Got fully moved in yesterday, just waiting for Comcast to hookup internet and TV, which they say will be Tuesday now, not Sunday. Also, while I was down here, I got a call from the landlord and PG&E will not hook up the gas today as planned because I switched it in my name last night, so now I have to call them, and setup another time to come out, and they say Tuesday is the earliest. The landlord had originally called them out to hook it up today, I did not know it would make a difference but I wanted to get it in my name as soon as possible.
Anyway, I am about 200 miles south of Fresno right now because of the Bronco throwing a temper tantrum and frying it's starter. And before you ask, first the fender mounted starter solenoid was acting up, and every time I turned the engine off, it would not start unless one of us hit it a couple of times with the rubber mallet. However, I had a brand new one with me as it did this yesterday twice while we were moving. So I bought one at Pep Boys. Anyway, after replacing that, we find out it is doing the same thing. So Trey crawled under the truck and hit the solenoid on the started and that did the trick. Then the Bronco started over heating, and we had to stop at least twice if not three times to let it cool down.
And finally, as we were leaving and I unlocked the hubs, somehow the starter became stuck to the flex plate or there was a short in the wiring, in any case, the starter remained engaged. We got to the only gas station within 50 miles (and I paid $4.69 a gallon!) and while we were waiting for it to cool down we sat on some picnic tables about 50 feet away. All of a sudden we all start to smell a fire and smoke was coming from the transmission area. Trey ran to grab his fire extinguisher, and we got to the truck and realized it was still shorting out, so we disconnected the battery, and pushed it into a parking spot by the picnic tables. Which is where it is right now, and I am typing this from a Motel 6 on Frazier Park Road and the 5 freeway, which Sean (Wpnaes) was kind enough to drive me to before heading home.
No clue yet as the truck is still at the gas station, just called "the cheapest" tow company and it is going to cost $360 just to go get it. The good news is, there is a local repair shop here that is open until 8pm today and a Napa auto parts store right next door. So it should be fixed today assuming the starter is the only problem. Oh, I joined AAA today and got a premier membership, however, I have to wait 48 hours before I can use their free towing service. LOL
Glad to hear you have AAA now. I love it. Good luck on probs with Bronco.
A little toasty at 101* outside (68* inside) so I made some frozen margaritas
Post up Jim on progress.
