I have no clue. They say because they caught it early I have a good chance of controlling it, however, like you, I don't see how that will happen if they don't treat it. I have to go in Thursday for a bone marrow procedure so I will ask the doctor then what the deal is. We were interrupted by another doctor when my doctor was telling me I had cancer, and I did not get to ask all my questions. So I will try and find out Thursday. That test is for Leukemia, and I am praying it will be negative. One cancer is enough.
The broncoscopy confused me at first honestly because you're usually talking about your bronco. That's probably what tipped me.
Terrible news but it's great you caught it early. My grandpa was just diagnosed with prostate cancer and I've been going to his doctors appointments with him.
Some of the treatments out there now are crazy advanced these days. I agree that it's weird about waiting for treatment. I feel like cancer is one of those things that should be dealt with ASAP.

Have you ever been exposed to Agent Orange, Jim? There are links to exposure to Agent Orange and CLL.
Well, I have got good news today and bad news today. The good news is that I will be leaving the hospital today, sometime within the hour with any luck. The bad news is I have cancer. It is called CLL, and I have not looked it up yet, but they say they found it early and most likely will not start treatment on it yet. They also found two masses. One on each one of my kidneys. They don't know if they are benign or growing. They want me to come back for another CT scan in one to two months to see if the masses are growing or not.

Wow Jim. I'm truly sorry to hear this but rest assured you'll be in our thoughts and prayers. I hope they can give you better info when you go back to see the doctor(s). Keep us posted.
Good Morning NorCal...Jim, I'm sorry to hear about the Cancer diagnosis. Which VA hospital do you go to for your medical? Redford is right about the AO exposure implication.
Sorry I've been absent for so long...I upgraded to Windows 8, which claimed to be "intuitive", but I guess I've already used up my allotted amount of intuition. I think I've, kinda, got it now.........

No, I don't think so. I served from '76 to '81 and was never deployed overseas, spent my entire hitch after basic and tech school in South Florida, at Homestead AFB.
I go to the VA hospital right here in Fresno, it is 2.2 miles from my current residence. I am not feeling as bad emotionally as I thought I would be considering the news they dropped on me yesterday. I don't feel bad physically except for the chest pain and coughing which is almost gone. There is some nagging chest pain left, and I still cough once in awhile, but nothing like it was a week ago. They have me taking 3 pills a day now, two of them replace the one combo pill I was taking. they are just stronger doses, the third one is for the chest inflammation. I am feeling pretty good this morning considering, but I think that is due mainly to waking up in my own bed instead of the hospital.
