your thinking is backwards actually.when the trip distance is close, there is little time and gas saved by attempting to do what you did.you could have actually saved time by taking 2 trips and driven the speed limit.
when you can save time and fuel is on the long hauls.that's when you would haul extra heavy (but not like this.this is out of reason of course lol) and just drive real slow and easy in the break down lane if needed.you'd still save time and fuel if the trip was 50-60 miles.
when it's a 10 mile or less trip, just double up the loads cus you'll save nothing, and in this case possibly brake the truck.

i was about to ask where are all your diesel trucks? but i guess it looks like all you have for a diesel truck is just your dads old one and the other is a van and motorhome.seems like you had a couple diesel trucks for some reason.guess not if your doing stuff like this haha!
hope you got that cab off.you don't have but just a couple weeks to put that '90 back together before the snow flies! least it's gunna feel that way soon.

That F150 is our only pick up truck on the road though, but knowing it would of been that heavy, I woulda went with my flat bed F350 though. Know for next time Just slap some old plates on it and go!

I went to Martha's Vineyard once and that was a big ticket too. Lots of Sissons in Rhode Island. My Grandpa owned Sissons Garage( the ford dealership) in Wareham Mass. He died WAY back in in 1928 and my Grandma sold out to the Suddard family who still runs Suddard ford in Wareham Mass. Born in Seattle in 1953, but have a lot of history in New England. My existing relatives there drank up any family money that might be associated with 'old money'.......
Small world... I have a lot of family in Wareham, mostly aunts, uncles and cousins. G & S Marine in Buzzards Bay was founded by my (now deceased) Uncle. My cousin Gary took over the biz about ten years ago...

My first full time job out of high school was at Edey and Duff Boatworks in Mattapoisett, on Buzzards Bay, right near the Marion line. But we are off topic. Better get back to the loaded up trucks before somebody gets wicked mad and yells at us....

Unfortunately yes, I had too. It wasn't my truck and if I had the money I would have bought it. My friend owned both trucks and the burb broke and he needed quick cash to buy another ride to get him to work. I talked him into giving me a week to try and sell it, even strung him along for a second week but apparently $600 was too much for a straight 90% rust free hi-boy. I had a new person looking at it almost every day, and we were only asking scrap value as he got $558 for it at the yard. Everyone seemed to think they were going to drive it home for $600.

I should have got a shot of the tow rig (90 F250 IDI) too but here's my haul yesterday. Too big for the trailer, had to air down the front tires to squish it forward enough for the back ones to catch.

It involves speed, ramps, precision and a Dixie horn!

The whole reason I got the truck. Our Jeep Cherokee wasn't up to the task.

Your Jeep Cherokee wasn't able to tow that small boat?
