Does everybody forget the rust found in various areas of the fuel system? How does steel in constant contact with diesel fuel rust?
720...
If you are referencing my HPFP issue, you are, again, not in command of the facts. If you read the post, it clearly say's that the part that you reference has "NO" rust where it see's fuel flow. The rust is where the part mates with the exterior of the pump...
This has been explained before but I will, for the sake of newcomers and the forgetful, briefly recap the scene. Truck was towed into dealer number one. He made two unsuccessful attempts to fix the truck under warranty. He was so sure it was warranty that he proceeded without a signed repair order. Both unsuccessful attempts were accompanied by parts that Ford clearly shows in their diagnostics chart as areas where potential water in fuel issues could be verified...the second attempt actually replaced the part that the doubtful here like to throw into the discussion...yes...the dopes replaced that part under warranty. In fact, that part was never mentioned by that dealer as proof of water in fuel...the water in fuel coverup started when the dealer realized he was in the soup for the repairs to that point...including two parts he had bought and installed
The complete fuel system was inspected by a very competent Ford servicing dealer...including the Titan 50 gallon fuel tank. 30 gallons of fuel was drained from the tank and checked for water. Not one drop of water was found anywhere...the filters and fuel lines were clean and rust free...
The rusty part claim is a red herring thrown into the mix here to discredit my story. As to Ford's side of the story...officially they have said nothing...unofficially...I have an email from a high level Ford engineer who was involved in the case that said he implored Ford to fix the truck under warranty...I also have one from him telling me he did not sleep the weekend after he found out what Ford had done...enough said...
Sorry for the thread hijack...oh...wait...it's my thread...
Another concern I worry about is the insurance company's getting wise and not covering the "water in fuel" claims anymore. After a few giant claims I can imagine they would revise there policies.

Now much water does it take to rust? A few drops of water in your fuel in hundreds of gallons of diesel pushing it along? Then the pm22 lube, how much does that prevent rust. Can you really have enough water to cause the corrosion and not have the truck run crappy from water, until one day it just stops????????
Well guys, this one has turned into a bash-fest even after I asked twice to leave this in the past. Everyone has strong opinions here, but the constant back and forth is unproductive at best.
