Well, the POS went in yesterday for an EGR cooler replacement. I got the truck back last night after 6pm. Before 6 am this morning, while taking Deb to work, guess what came back...again...yep...another visit by the CEL...let' see...less than 12 hours...a new record...
but it gets better...I took it back this afternoon...new code this time...Reductant Sensor issue and another failure to learn code as well. They turned the CEL out and are going to get back with me...but...the CEL came back on in less than 20 miles...
Mine is still awesome........you still looking for at the Chevy?

Good to hear from you...glad all is well...How are things in the NorthWest? Call me if you get a chance.
Melissa's truck has made a few trip's to the dealership as well...DEF issues and heater issues...and her navigation radio quit...at 32000 miles. So far, Ford has fixed her truck...
I am looking at both the 2013-14 GM twins and the 2013 HD Ram. Someone will be getting a big pile of our money in the spring...but it will not be Ford...
...unlike me, they still like their truck. Most of their return trips were due to dealer learning curve. Their dealer, located in a small town market in the Thumb of Michigan, has went out of his way to keep them happy as he has heard the nightmare story that her dad has lived.
Tomorrow makes dealer trip number 16 for my truck....
Come on spring time. Dang rick how much more of this crap you gonna take? Im very patient but your writing a whole new definition to patient.. I sure feel for ya. Paul

It's really strange how different things can be. I've never had a cel in over 280,000 miles between my old 6.4 and this 6.7. Blown motor? Yes, I had that happen but it never threw a code.
Seriously, most of us have zero issues. Some folks like you have a ridiculous record. I don't get it.....
2 1/2 years and 30,000 miles later I have thrown 3 CEL's. Loose connector out of the box, bad DEF pump, and the latest being for an EGR valve. I am starting to worry about this truck!
Hi Rick, sorry you still are having problems. Maybe you are being tested for Sainthood, seems like you have already qualified. I hope you and your family have a good Thanksgiving. And, Happy Thanksgiving to all the great people who post here.

I am really interested in the RAM for 2013. Want to see what they come up with.
I am really interested in the RAM for 2013. Want to see what they come up with.
I have been closely following the development of the 2013 Ram and GM twins. The interiors of the current Rams are easily as roomy and nice as the Ford. GM falls well short in that regard. The GM twins with the new large cab will be out in the early spring. There is some speculation that the 2013 3500HD Dually Ram will be available with the even larger MegaCab and an eight foot box. It will be a long beast but I am very interested in that possibility. Even with the CrewCab though, there is a lot of space in the Ram.
The Ram, with it's legendary Cummins powerplant, and the GM twins, with their proven and WARRANTIED DuraMax/Allison power train, are both quality trucks. Until recently, they have not had the comfort or niceties of the once proud Ford SuperDuty. 2013 Ram HD's will have power folding tow mirrors similar to the Ford. I am unsure if either the Ram or GM trucks will have rapid supplemental heat...that will be a step back after having the niceties of that option...but the heated steering wheel will be nice.
There is a lot to look forward to in the near future. To those that wish I would trade the POS Ford and go away, the trade will happen...when the truck I desire makes it to the market...but the disappointment in Ford for their absolutely shameful treatment of loyal customers will remain forever. To the rest of my friends here, thanks for the support...and have a Happy Thanksgiving...
