I am at a loss as to why a dealership would not take in work...
look in the mirror. some customers are just not worth the PITA they cause.
as far as your tech's opinion, i think he's blowing smoke up your --- or you're making up stories.
i asked a guy on another forum i go to that happens to be a service writer at the big Ford dealer here about the HPFP issue and he had no clue what i was talking about. never even heard of one case and this dealer is big. he has no reason to lie. He's just some guy i four wheel with.
all manufacturers put out lemons and you got one.

Dealer never heard of any problems we discuss here. Its funny how these trucks are great when they are selling them, then when you want to trade them, they had problems with your model year and wont bring much. Well I didn't make the damn thing, Ford did but I have to eat it.

i wasn't at a dealer buying a truck asking about the problem. just friendly conversation out on the trail four wheeling. hey, if your's sucks so bad just dump it and buy a different brand. problem solved.
you people whining about being screwed by a huge corporation crack me up.
I asked my dealer about the HPFP issues and what they thought about it. Granted they are a small dealer but they have only had one come in so far and they think it was bad fuel and lack of maintenance, said the fuel filter were coated with a black scum. The customers insurance covered it and went after the fuel station. The parts guys spends a lot of time on the forms so he has heard all of the complaints but being a small dealer they haven't seen the problems. He recommended that I leave my truck stock (No Tuner) do the maintenance on the filters and keep my fuel receipts just in case something did happen. I also asked another dealer about the problem and they are aware what is being said on the forms but told me to do my maintenance and not to worry, in the big scheme of things the forms are small compared to the amount of trucks on the road.
Sorry about getting off subject but I just wanted to comment about the two dealers that are close to me knowing of the problems.
Care to elaborate? Back up your claim with some facts too, if you dont mind.
When the fuel pump goes, and it will, it ruins all the injectors in the process. The damage runs about $11,000.00 dollars. From all accounts it seems ford will not warranty this. Ford will blame it on water. The problem is all diesel fuel contains water by nature.

Would care to back up all Diesel fuel contains water. If so why in all my years have I never seen a drop of water in any samples I ck. I dont buy that crap either.all my equipment are diesels. Oil and water dont mix. Unless your using chemicals to make it happen.

What you have stated then, is that EVERY diesel motor has bad engineering because you will have the same issuse be it a Dodge, Chevy, Cummins, DD, Navistar, CAT, PACCAR.
Come up with another FACT that shows the 6.7 pump is no good, please.... and leave accumptions out of it, just the facts you know. Lets try again.....
