Yeah, you would think there would have thousands of threads about the fuel pump thing by now the way people were going on...
I wonder whats going to happen when the chebbie or dodge takes a dump and he gets screwed by that dealer. should be entertaining.
Nearly p*#*ed my pants with your picture response.lmao...I feel bad for all your problems but there is nooooo way I would still have that truck after all this crap you have been through. Also I wouldnt waste my time trying to make it your mission to make ford lose sales. That takes an awful lot of energy to do.I say this all the time, life is too short dont sweat the little things. And this IS little. Its a possesion, nothing more and can be replaced.Just move on and be done with it.
What about all the failures of the HPFP that were supposed to happen to everybody on here? I've not seen a thread about that in several months?
Right..and I have met Rick..great person.
But in my heart of hearts..I still believe bad diesel...not a hpfp problem.
Btw,..in my 28 years of driving Ford trucks and I have had 9 or 10 of them...always traded to upgrade..I have never had a failure. Water pump here and there...198,000 miles on my 7.3.
But Ford is golden in my book and this 2011 6.7 is no exception.
Not trying to start a show, but the way things were going with Rick and The HPFP, it was like a mass string of failures would happen. Which is clearly not the case. We are up to 12 6.7's at my company now and the worst problem we've had is on my truck with a failed injector at 45000 miles. Other than that, nothing! I will counter Ricks 117 "kills" with approximately 70 "saves" for which I have boasted the 6.7 to other business owners that have purchased the truck.
Interesting how your crusade shifted from HPFP failures to CEL's. Your motive is clear and no one here is buying it!
In the meantime find a compentent dealer as this repair should not be trivial.
And post some pictures when you purchase that new truck.
Good Luck,
Troy
...no shift in my position...just more problems with the truck...why is that hard to understand...
Bosch has made several changes to the CP4 pumps...including moving the production out of Germany. I am sure they were not going to stand still while the NHTSA was investigating all the vehicle manufacturer's that use the fragile pump. I am happy for all 6.7 owners that the information campaign and the additive sales have minimized the problem.
One manufacturer has went as far as fixing any and all CP4 failures with no questions asked. They do this because they do not want to involved with a mandatory recall. This information, first brought to the forefront by letters sent to owners, was told to me yesterday by one of the warranty/service engineers at the manufacturer. When I asked if Ford was next...he just smiled. He has no dog in my battle with Ford...just the facts...
I have the phone number and the email of the EPA representative for this area...I wonder what he will say on Monday...

I am still happy with my truck that your input, numerous PM's and phone calls helped me sell a perfectly good 6.0 and order a 2011 KR. I have had nothing but great success with my truck. Just ran 1,000 miles 80 MPH+ from Denver to MN and did 16 MPG with my topper on. It clicked 41,000 miles on the trip.
Bummer to hear yours is still causing you problems. Bad deal all the way around.

They probably aren't going to say or do much more than all the high ranking Ford connections that you had during the bad fuel episode. More smoke and chest thumping I guess.

Whose bad fuel episode are you referencing? It can not be my Shameful Ford Event because no bad fuel was ever found!!! Several engineers and experienced techs have looked at my parts and not one, including a very high ranked Ford engineer, can find any evidence of bad fuel...must be more bashing from an up and coming member of my fan club...

Bad fuel or water in the fuel? I thought the fuel in your tank was never tested for contamination? Ie. gasoline, kerosene, def, sand, sugar, improperly batched diesel..... I'll state this again..... It's standard procedure for my company to collect a fuel sample if a fuel system issue arises in any piece of equipment. That way when we throw some blame, it's to the right people who deserve it.
Could we get back to the original topic? I believe it was an EGR cooler replacement and then more CELs. Rick if you dare enter this thread again I'm curious to know about the former and if you've found any resolution to the latter...

...my fan club needs the exercise so they will likely keep the bash fest going...but fear not, I am not afraid of the keyboard cowboys...
I did have the EGR cooler replaced last Monday. It took the tech about 5 hours. He is a conscientious and careful guy. He is also quite willing to hare his opinion of the 6.7 engine...he does not like it much....OMG...does that make him a heretic???? He has seen several recurring issues like the HPFP's, EGR cooler replacements and a litany of CEL's for NOX and emissions problems. I have had all these CEL's at one time or another. I have also had a fan clutch failure, a single fuel injector failure that was caused by a bad circuit board that Bosch knew about, The Shameful Ford Event, two NOX sensors and now a Reductant sensor failure...but I should remain silent...yep... like that is happening...
Post up your oasis history and list the outcomes so there is a record of problems and fixes.
You wound up with a problematic truck, we get it. All the other drama is useless. Most of us need to look at the test lamp cycle when we start the engine to see if our cel even works.
