Really diggin the mudflaps man! Nice job. And I'm with ya on the factory audio stuff. Ugly Betty just has a radio (upgraded to a tape deck, but who has cassette tapes any more????) so I doubt I'll be blowing that one out any time soon...
Got the mudflaps from USA flap. They were $340 for the 2 pair when all said and done. But now the dies are made and I am an authorized dealer so I can get them cheaper
Brad, really like what you have done with the truck, just looks great and mean! As for your headache rack check your pm box, as for the factory CD player, I am wanting to go back to one my self, heck even a tape/cd deck would be good, I have one that is red/blue and while I like it and its good I want the factory set up and sat radio installed again (was stolen from my truck last year). Anyways love the mud flaps, may need to get some my self!
But I'm curious about the speedo. The vehicle is off, yet the speedo shows it's maxed out..
What's up with that?
had the cluster out and the needle just was laying that way. Once i cylcled the key it went back.

I went thru 3 factory CD players. Just got sick on each one having it own issues. Ended up putting in a JVC Arsenal. It is a pretty basic radio(I didn't want bells and whistles). It does have Pandora capability though. I really like it. I went and bought the same radio from my bronco

Gotta agree on JVC. I installed one in my F150, nothing fancy, nor does it look fancy. But, it has bluetooth audio streaming, and iPod/iPhone/Pandora capability. For a little over $100 it was money well spent.

Exactly. I didnt want it looking fancy. No need to attract a s s holes to break in my truck for a $100 radio with $1000's worth of damage
Exactly! One other thing I like about them is the display color options. The green is almost the same as factory. Ain't nothing worse than a radio that makes the dashboard look like a dance club!
I was having some issues with frame flex on my truck. From my research the CCSB is the "perfect" chassis to do this. Then also factor in that I added air bag to the rear suspension and it amplifies the problem
here is what the truck looks like with a loaded trailer. You can see the gap between the bed and cab open right up with a load
So I decided to plate the frame. BUT I got FRAME STEEL so it would flex, but FLEX BACK and it has 95% of the correct holes in it for the stock pieces to bolt right back in place. The 3/4 and 1 tons have 1/4" frames. the F150 had 3/16"
Made some progress this week.
I got a CCLB frame as a donor. Impossible to find a good SCSB or CCSB f250 frame.
I took the cross members out and anything else riveted to the frame and then had 2 frame rails.
Laid the one "good" SCSB frame rail(from a junk frame I bought 1st) that I had cut, over top of the CCLB frame rail and traced out the rear dog leg. The plate is a little over 7' long and it goes from the front overload pad(of the helper spring) to just behind the trans cross member.
Traced them both out(used the one template for both rails), also drilled out the front spring hanger and overload pad mounting holes. Cut both rails down to flat plates to fit Inside the existing frame rails. Left as much metal as I could, yet still fit Inside the "c".
Sandblasted, 2 coats of POR15 and 2 coats of TSC low Glare black.
Truck is at body shop right now getting the frame straightened, should get it back tomorrow or tues.
Also sandblasted a cross member and my traction bar mounts.
Damn Brad. That's pretty nuts. Reminds me of a F150 I see at the local Walmart. Except that one is driven by a guy bumping some ghetto tunes, I think his is an intentional ghetto ride.
Brad, does the truck have a trailer on in the bottom photo? My Centurion did the same thing (which I expected with a half ton frame), but it went back to normal after taking the trailer off.

Yes. And while the truck does come MOST of the way back without the trailer, it does Not come all the way back
Looks like you've got quite the project lined out for yourself, Brad. It's cool to see all the work you're going through to make this the truck you want.
