Nevermind, finally figured it out. Used a cutting torch to cut the dash and firewall out. Well, thought about it anyway. Wish somebody would had gave me a heads up on that one. MUCH more involved than I first thought. Took half the stuff under the dash out and the air filter. Got it going back together. Finish within an hour tomorrow. A lot of trouble for cheap plastic parts.

it sounds like your problem could be similar to the one i just had.. you should really look over your wiring harness starting at the idm going all the way to the valve cover gaskets.. it sounds like your problem is and intermittent problem and that means electrical not fuel the plugs on the valve covers inside and out start to burn up ive owned 2 of these truck both had the same issues.. unplug the plugs look at the pins if it is burnt up you will notice.. it only takes a little time to do this and its worth it... if you dont notice anything outside the motor either replace the cam sensor or start of with taking the passenger side valve cover off its easier to remove and carefully unplug each plug watch out for the little gaskets it easy for one to fall somewhere bad.. and just inspect it all and it would be a good time to check you glow plugs while your at.. if everything looks good then throw it back together and you can rule it out and get closer to figuring out your problem..

Alright, that sounds like something worth checking out. After I get my pedals back in I'll look those things over. It hasn't cutout no more so far. I still can't check my pressure. Ford was out of the valves but will have them tomorrow. I really need to see what that pressure is too. I'll get these things done tomorrow. Thanks for the help.

Thanks fordpride. Thought I went about it the wrong way, now I know I didn't. Guess I better get my accelarator pedal out of the way while I put it back together. Think I see why they say to do that. I was being very careful around it. I see you sent something else too. I'm going to look into that one closer. May need to do it too. My bushings wasn't that bad gone. That other fix might be the trick.

Just did this on the RCLB. Didn't have to move the go-pedal. Even with an aftermarket steering shaft, that sticks out further from the firewall than the pic ^^^^^ shows, it wasn't hard to snake out. Turned it 90 degrees counterclockwise after getting it loose and it dropped right out.

Did you try this, before starting on the pedal box? Light touch on the brake pedal with one foot, operate the clutch with the other foot. If you feel any feedback in the brake pedal, the bushings are shot.

Oh yea, felt the brake pedal wiggle before. Also seen movement on the at the clutch master cylinder. Know that bushing was wore. Just surprised when I got it out that it didn't look as bad as I had expected. Was still in one piece and wasn't wore through. There's no doubt that it was wore some though. I think I'll plan to do that other fix fordpride sent me too. That bushing looked good for now but I see they're known for problems. Looked like a pretty easy fix.

Yup, my pedal box bushings didn't really look worn, but I had a good inch or more of mash-potato feel on the clutch pedal, and significant brake pedal feedback. New bushings, all snug and smooove.

Only took about 30 min to get it back together. Clutch feels much better. Goes in and out of first and reverse easy now. Afraid to drive it though. That other bushing fordpride put me on at the end of the master cylinder rod is very bad. Jumped halfway off a few times. Hope Ford has one in stock.

Got ripped on that one 10 bucks for a plastic nothing. Bet I'll have the fix in before they get me again. Everything seems to be good. Going to clean the inside out and clean me up and take her for a drive.

Got that right!! That's why I hate yo go to a dealer, but sometimes you gotta. Got to get use to my "new" clutch. It's what a clutch should be now. Had one of my cutout moments again. From the advice I'm getting it sounds like it could be any one of a ton of things. I want to check that pressure again, feels like the performance has fell back to what it was before. That counter guy today couldn't figure out what I needed and the other one was at lunch. Try again tomorrow.

Yeah, I am curious whether your fuel pressure really is as low as the gauge said it was for some reason.

There's something I've wondered about. If you recall the plunger for the FPR stuck on me one time. When I got it out there was a burr on the side of it. Looked like aluminum. I sanded it off and put it back in. Could this plunger be sticking open sometimes?

I would like to change that whole housing out and put a new plunger in it. That burr concerned me. Womder if something is wrong with the seat.
