I wonder whether that might be one of the parts that Ford has made obsolete in their system. Looks like I am not going to be much help either. You might want to post a "wanted to buy" ad in the classifieds for either an FPR or a whole fuel bowl assembly. I can't believe that the issue you're seeing has anything to do with the schrader valve though. I am guessing your spring is weak or something. Weird though that you can't get fuel pressure even with the FPR shimmed. You replaced all the hoses correct? And you have tried it on both tanks?
Yep, done all of that. Not the shrader valve either. One of the Ford guys gave me a couple of cores for tires. Tried one just to see if I could get any pressure. Still the same. I'll put mine back since I don't know what diesel will do to it. Is there anything besides the pump and FPR that can cause low pressure?
The only things I can think of would be a bad line somewhere, or a fuel leak at the injector. You don't have fuel in the coolant do you? What about a rising oil level in the crankcase? A hole in the injector cup will allow the fuel to be pushed into the coolant, and a failing injector (internally) can allow the fuel to be combined with the oil, but I don't think that would happen fast enough to affect the fuel pressure.
I've actually checked the oil level several times wondering if fuel could leak in to it. Hasn't changed. If anything the coolant was a little low. Had the old regular stink to it, not a diesel smell.
I don't think there is really anything in there to blow. It is just a spring and the spool you had out... Is the bb still in there? What's the pressure now?
Yep, just the spring and spool and the BB is in. Pressure isn't reading on the tire gauge, still low squirt. Thinking about getting a real gauge so I can see what I've really got. Going to be low whatever it is.
with the truck idling if you pushed the schrader valve with a screw driver fuel should spray across the engine bay and over the fender, your not getting enough fuel pressure.
Put a want add in the PSD section, their are alot of guys that have converted to E-Fuel and done away with the whole bowl and FPR, someone has got to have one you can get.
The way it does now when I push the gauge on there it more or less dribbles. When I had that 75psi it had a lot og squirt to it, got me while I was standing in front of the truck. I think what I'll do when I can get time is take the FPR back off so I can look down there and see if I see anything. Probably going to end up posting in the classified as you guys said. Got to figure out how that works. I can still drive it so I'm not hurting too bad. I hope another one will cure the problem. Keep your fingers crossed.
