Ford Trucks for Ford Truck Enthusiasts
Well, I kept checking my SkyHook and today gave SkyHook number 1 a good tug and next thing I knew a 2015 F150 3.5L with Twin Turbo's fell out of the sky soon followed by a :
6R80 6-Speed Automatic along with a Transfer Case, A bit of wiring and and Computer.
In case y'all have not guessed its going into my 1966 F250 Deluxe Camper Special Ranger.
A HUGE difference in the builds will be.
1) Stock Body no mods
2) Stock Frame no mods
3) Keeping the Twin I-Beam Suspension
4) Since the F250 comes with a HD Brake System it will also be kept as they are factory Power Brakes
5) The Entire Factory Bucket Seat Interior Will Be kept stock with exception of dash Cluster. Still trying to come up with a design but want it to look very stock.
6) The Special Order Paint Color will be kept
7) Exterior will be restored to Original (eventually, get it running for now)
8) Stock Front Sheet Metal Including Core Support & Inner Fenders
9) Whoa, just gave too much information
10) This will be my parts hauler and daily driver
11) Stock front suspension for now but will be turned into a 4x4 as time allows and I get caught up on other projects
12) And the BIGGIE is:
"A Ford Supported Project through Drivers Talk Radio"
Starting off with a 2015 3.5L Eco, 6R80 from a 4x4
Its going into my 1966 Deluxe Camper Special Ranger

352 was pulled

The Ranger engine was taken down to long block, gaskets, seals replaced and dropped into the '66 F100
Front clip removed as the Eco/6R80/Tcase very long.

Engine/Trans/TC came in at 768 lbs. Includes all accessories.

A bit dirty so a few squirts of Magic Soap and a rinse.

pre-checking inner sheet metal fit.

Fits like it belongs there!

I knew ahead of time cross members 2 & 3 would need to be removed. THey were unbolted and moved out of the way.

Another try and it plopped right in like it belonged there!

My question from the start was will the left turbo clear the steering gear box. Looked like it would be close by eyeball.

Right turbo? No problem, the factory indent was in perfect spot!
Once I knew it would fit blew apart the other sheet metal. Took around 2.5 hours total to remove front clip, cab and box. maybe not that long.

I removed cab and box so I could show better photo's of what I am up to.
A few here to show final resting spot. Trans cross member will be here tomorrow.
