Jeff, I clicked on your link from when you replied to my radiator post. I just spent over a hour reading through your build and very nice work sir. It's going to turn out great. I too spent some time not working on mine for about five years do to work and knee surgery's. Now since I am on disability money is tight but doing what I can. I look forward to seeing more of your progress.
Hi Tracy! thanks for the compliments. I have done the same thing many times, not really expecting to spend too much time looking through a build thread and then hours later, it's time for bed! LOL
These truck projects are good therapy and sometimes a pain in the butt!
But when you see some progress it helps. After 7 years of on and off progress, I still am strong willed about the day I get to drive it. My wife has had times where she suggests maybe we get rid of it and buy something less intensive...I only tell her that she doesn't understand. It isn't about putting gas in it and driving. It's about the build, fabrication, research, discussion, meeting others with the same interests, trading parts or access to parts through this little window of the internet. Paying forward the good stuff I have learned here. It's purely and simply good! When this truck project began, I had no idea, how long it would effect my life. Truth is the truck will be done someday, but this forum will be with me for the rest of my life.
Have a good night my friend.

I am moving at sloth like speed! But I had a helping hand get me over a speed bump! His name is TJ, Nicolle use to babysit him when he was in diapers. Yeah we are getting old...He owns his own Cycle shop and does some wicked artwork.
Yet still willing to spray an old truck cab! He straightened out some battle scars and turned this around in one week! Faster than I could find my paint gun!
I will get some better pics when it is on the trailer at home.
Hey Jeff have not been around for a while and checked on your progress
And WOW!! that cab turned out Beautiful!! I better get the giddy UP and get
going.. Thanks for the motivation !! George (Buzz) Ha Ha!
So the last update, I had my cab painted. I set it on the frame and it really was a good thing to see! Then the gears in my head started slamming again.

Reason: picture is turned sideways...
So I started reaching out, looking for an F1 bed. I thought buy new? or find one out there that still has some Henry Ford metal left in it? So I waited for any possibilities, and a member here PM'ed me. "Cougar54" sent me some pictures and he just so happened to be on the way to my daughter's house in central MI
So Nicolle and I decided to take a road trip to MI on Thanksgiving. I met with Cougar54 on Friday, talked for "awhile"...LOL...I got in trouble for being gone too long...LOL...But that is just part of the journey! So I bought the bed and tailgate from him and brought it back to IL
The bed is going to get a new front panel, rear stake pockets, crossmembers, and the rear piece under the tailgate. Of course I need to patch the upper front drivers side flange. All that stuff is reasonable to buy repro, but those raised panel sides are a little hard to choke up the cash for!
I am inspired by all the work I see on here, but gotta say...that young guy Nick Gordon made me decide to tackle the repairs. That kid has been busy! Nice work too. So thanks Nick!
Just to avoid confusion, this tailgate is the one I got, but the rest of the brown truck is not mine.

Great to know I could inspire someone! I look forward to seeing progress on your truck!
The cab looks great. I wish I would have finished the body work on my cab years ago instead of waiting. Now I am going to finish it after I get it running and moving around. Can't wait to see frame work pictures of what you are doing. Happy New Year to you and your family
Jeff it looks good! As far as Nick goes he does nice work too but damn it the kid just makes it look too easy compared to what an old guy like me does it. Have fun
