Yes we are using the same fuel rail and intake. What EEC IV are you using? I can't see the numbers on the computer.
I may be asking you for some advice!

I think it’s from a 93 Mustang (computer) the injection is from a 2000 explorer I think it came with the harness already to plug in I had to integrate it into my existing harness and I had help and I needed it

Oh heck yeah! I probably have every diagram on the internet and a fuel injection book by Charles Probst.
I have so much documentation it is ridiculous!

I will admit. I like soldering and then shrink wrapping.
I bought these connectors that have solder inside and glue. The outer tube is heated with a heat gun and it solders and shrink wraps in one step. I'm a bit leary of the solder joint, so I add a short piece of extra solder inside the tube. It seems to do the job!

Jeff,

I admire you and Schoo for tackling your harness wiring jobs! It looks great so far.

I went the easy route and bought the Ron Francis Telorvek wiring harness for my 2000 Explorer 5.0. My motor had the distributorless ignition, the returnless fuel system, and the computer controlled 4r70w Transmission. I was too chicken to try. I also had RF flash my computer to remove PATS, EGR, Tank fuel pressure sensor, rear O2s, and the modulated fuel pump.

I bought the wiring harness prior to doing a lot of research, and I think now I could probably have figured it out and only been out the cost to flash the ECM. At the time it was sure intimidating at the bottom of the mountain looking up, so I figured I was $$ ahead buying a harness.

My engine and trans are ready to drop in if I could ever finish my metal work!

Good Luck and I hope you don't run into anything too daunting along the way!

That looks nice! What transmission is that? I see you have the GT40P heads. Any issues with spark plug interference to the headers? Looking at your throttle body brings curiosity.
It is turned with the IAC valve upward. And the linkage on the side. Mine in clocked where the linkage is underneath. That rd and black looks great!

my linkage is under also and I have a TV cable for the aod I see you guys are using the heater tubes along the head/manifold that took too much room I couldn’t get the linkages in the same place

The trans is a 4r70w. computer controlled (no TV cable). The Throttle Body is normally attached to an EGR elbow and points forward. I removed the elbow because I removed EGR from the tune (EGR is fully external on the 2000 Explorer), and with the elbow the oil filler tube on my new valve covers blocked the TB and air intake.

I bought the Sanderson Headers made for the P heads, so they clear the plugs ok. A little tight on #8 because of the dipstick mounting.

All of the intake and the accessory brackets are powdercoated wrinkle black to match the valve covers.

EGR Elbow (deleted)

I am going to have to fabricate a new throttle linkage bracket because the throttle used to attach to the EGR elbow, but that shouldn't be too tough. I'll just use the old bracket to determine the geometry.

I was overwhelmed at first trying to figure out every variable to make this work. I feel like I'm on the downhill slide now! I never considered swapping to a carb! I think, like me, you are looking forward to the benefits of EFI. It has taken a lot of time and money to get here though. New harness, new sensors (ALL!), new accessories (A/C Comp, Alt, PS pump, Idler), timing set, new water pump, coils, plug wires, high stall torque converter, Trans rebuild parts, new full gasket set for the engine, ECM tune, and on, and on, and on! Definitely not for the faint of heart!

I am looking forward to seeing your finished product. Knowing what I know now, I would have dieted a stock harness like you are doing. I think overall it would have been cleaner. Again, good luck!

Kreg

Haha! I know most every detail issue you have went through.Except the expensive harness...lol
Hey, I left a note on another one of your threads about a throttle cable bracket from bcbroncos. I can get the info for you later this evening. It wasn't expensive and it is a pretty nice bracket.
