Jeff,
I know what your about to go through. Being in the Army kept me away and even though I enjoyed the work I hated being away. Good luck on the Job search, I didn't have that option without losing my retirement.
IMHO Concentrate on the family! Believe me the truck will still be there, but the family is another matter.
Uh, by the look in Nicole's eyes I don't think the family will be going anywhere soon, or is that look in her eyes a reflection of HOMADES grill, Ha Ha.

I got out of the Navy due to the same problem, no room on the aircraft carrier for the wife and kids!

A little of both!

Grant what are you gonna be doing? I am not leaving my forum. Sounds like a "farewell" You can't get rid of me that easy!
Jeff I can sympathize with you . Went through pretty much the same thing almost 30 years ago . Married for 2 years ,Pat was pregnant and I got laid off so I had to go away to work for a while . But enough about that . Point is you have a job thats keeping the wolf away from the door and 2years for the project your on will go by fast ( time flies by when you get old ) . Best wishes and stick in there .
Good luck Jeff, everything has a way of working itself out. The days of being happily employed at the same place for thirty years are gone, I've bounced around because of closings and takeovers but we always ended up on our feat, maybe not right away but eventually it always worked out.
Hey Jeff hang in there buddy! Find something to relieve the stress... whatever that may be. I go to the farm most every day and sometimes just wander around to clear my mind. Some days I go the coffee shop for some really expensive coffee... always a seat for you there if/when you need it.
About 20 years ago I had the greatest job I ever had with a small company, great benefits, vacations, more days off than I ever had with a job and I basically had the run of the shop. I was on my own most of the time doing what I liked. About 5 years into the job my boss decided he and his friend were going to start their own company and left. The president was an alumni type guy, only hired from the technical college he went to. He hired one of his buddy's son who went to the same school and was a total ***. He made enemies of everyone he considered beneath him, employees and vendors. But he kissed *** to everyone above him. I worked for him for about a year and a half but it got to a point I knew I was going to literally have to beat the hell out of him. I am not exaggerating. The husband of one of the girls I worked with was actually planning to get together with a couple of his buddies and jump the guy but she was offered a better job before they followed with their plan. It got to a point where I either did some stupid or leave. I figured the guy wasn't worth jail time so I found a different job. I bounced around from job to job until I started my own business. It's been over 15 years and I doubt I could ever work for anyone else again.
Owning your own business isn't for everyone. I have my times, quite often, that I wonder why I did it. But other times I see why. Maybe starting your own business might be an option. Think about it.
Hang in there buddy. g
P.S. I heard a while back that my former *** of a boss had a massive heart attack, the guy was younger than me and the attack really messed him up. Couldn't happen to a more deserving person. I figure he got what he deserved for making so many other people lives so miserable.

Your trucks not going to go anywhere. Get the cash then get back to the family and the truck and enjoy life again. It sucks for sure to have to put it all on hold but you just wait. Something good will come of it... Good luck and don`t go to far. I still got a pile of questions for you. Remi
WOW, that's amazing work you are showing, Jeff. I fear it may be too much for this old fart to undertake. I just got a '49 F1 last week and starting to make plans for customizing. The last time I did this was in 1979 when I went top to bottom through a '70 Chevy CST ( I know, blasphemy!) At any rate I'm jazzed to get onto this forum and learn about old Fords!

I aint goin nowhere Bro. I'm looking at getting a government job. Untill then I'll stick it out with my Bro. 5 minutes from work goes a long way. As for FTE, I'll Die here, an my truck (even if I die) will be carried on by Jordan & Kalan. I aint goin nowhere soon. Take care, and you're stuck with me for the long run. Keep those Yamaha's, you'll never know when I'll show up for a ride, but if you sell them, come on up, an I'll treat you and Nicolle to a wonderfull canadian adventure.
Okay so I haven't had any pics for awhile. Truth is...I haven't had a lot of mention worthy progress. But I was gone all summer for work and had to remember where the heck I was (in regards to the truck project).
Well i'm still trying to figure that out...in the meantime, I am working on EFI wiring so I can eventually get this engine to come to life!
I don't like this part of the project really...wiring that is...not gonna lie.
I also need to get fuel lines ran, transmission lines run.
I hand-formed one transmission line and needed to put a double flare on each end. I only have the "simple-man" flaring tool...I personally think these SUCK for steel lines...
Also have a new aluminum radiator. I don't think the steel flared ends should be threaded into the aluminum. Especially my less than perfect flares...
I spent some overtime on saving some time. Fiberglass fronts upper and lowers, rear fenders and the lower valance. Stored in a basement bedroom out of harms way.
