I'm part of the right wing conspiracy, I mainly listen to talk radio and if I want my heart to beat faster I listen to NPR as long as I can before I fling something at the radio, it doesn't take long. When I do listen to music I listen to classic rock mainly, very little new music I will listen to. Usually in my shop I have Pandora on the computer. It drives my kid nuts because I have everything programmed, AC/DC, Eagles, Hank Williams SR, MOtown, Pasty Cline, Johnny Cash, Blue Grass, Quiet Riot, Gospel, "Old Timey" music-the kind played during Lincoln time, Bob Seeger, Jim Reeves, Jerry Reed. My family doesn't like my variety.
I once worked with a younger guy who liked to play new rock, the kind that makes me so depressed I want to slit my wrists. I told him I wish someone with talent would write music again and he called me narrow minded because I didn't like his music and hate rap "music". I then asked if he listens to classic country? Blue grass? Gospel? Motown? Instrumental? classic rock? Sinatra? a half dozen other types of music I listen to. He said "No" to each one. I then asked him who was the closed minded one. He didn't have much to say after that.
We have a lot in common, at least musically and with trucks. Someday, I'm going to have to visit your part of the country.
Hey, you're in LA LA land, we can't agree on everything
You might be surprised how many of us living here in La La land don't think Kalifornia is being led by a really great group of politicians. I would move, but we got the house paid for and set up the way we want it. We have great neighbors. And I'm sure I can't convince my wife to move (I really don't want to either).
Back to the politicians... I spell that "liars", "thieves", and "crooks". Does that sound too disgruntled? Well, we can still waste our votes.
Jeff, I know what it is like to have lots of work and no time - or lots of time and no money because of no work! And all this talk about music and politics makes me want to go back out to the garage and work, thanks! Everybody has their own likes and dislikes about music and politics and everything else, what we have in common is Ford trucks and friends. I have lots of good friends that have different views than me and it doesn't bother me one bit, it takes all kinds to make the world go around. Cheers
I apologize, didn't mean go off subject. If I was standing in Jeff's garage we'd talk about more than just trucks, in fact we have. I'd also give him a hard time about his music. It's all guy talk, I feel FTE is just the equivalent of a cyber garage and some times we just go off.

Nothing wrong with that-- Isn't that part of what makes this forum fun and unique.
Jeff, you're amazing and I'm literally exhausted from checking out all of the work you've done. Nicole is the opposite of my wife since she tells me that everything I buy is crap and I'm wasting our money... until it's all done. Then a quick compliment followed by "how much did it end up costing us?"... wanna trade wives? lol
Seriously, great work and an awesome build thread.
Bob, no apologies necessary! I wasn't trying to criticize anybody, just saying how much I like this forum where we can all BS and not get bent out of shape! Sometimes my thoughts go much faster than my typing.
This is why I think our little meets, Truckstock, Truckfest, are so important. We should all get together as much as possible and talk trucks, and whatever else. I don't know about most of you, but when I talk trucks to anyone I know I see their eyes glass over and I can tell they couldn't care less. It's great to get together and talk trucks. I suggest we all head over to Jeff's house and do a power weekend and get that puppy on the road.
Jeff, tell Nicholle there's going to be 15-20 truck buddies standing in your garage and see what she says.
Hey everybody,
I have been off here since Truckfest.
I got put on a 2 year project for work. 1.5 hrs from home. Gonna be doing soils inspection for a new 6.5 mile stretch of new 4 lane highway. I won't be able to be home except Sundays pretty much....
I was told to either take this project or be laid off....so I had no choice.
So I will be looking for a new job while working a lot of hours...I don't want to give up my family or my truck project, but until I find something better, it is what I have to do. My head is spinning here, I am disgusted at what is expected of me to keep the "bottom line" in check.
I will keep in touch as much as possible.
We are on vacation (not gonna say where due to public view) but we left on Thursday...an hour from home, had to replace an Alternator on the road...turn signal flasher Friday morning....starter on Friday afternoon into Saturday....Oh and my phone got ran over on a go-kart track....it's junk.... I got tomorrow left and back on Monday
Can hardly wait for the gray cloud to roll outta here!
Jeff, sorry to hear that. Good luck on your job search. Too bad you are not a computer programmer. I have 3 positions open.
Try to keep in touch over this long stretch.
