Oh that, nah the cut off age for emissions is 25 and "technically" anything newer than 76 would require a cat if the shop doing it was worried about that, but even if I got pulled over and a cop checked, they wouldn't be concerned about a cat. I think if anything, they would have given me a citation already for the lack of emissions equipment now. They get more concerned about weather or not my tires stick too far out or if I am speeding. They go after smaller ricers or passenger cars that have loud exhausts.
EDIT: The one shop I talked to said he would run the system without a cat but I needed to sign a waiver claiming that the truck was ment for off road use only. That is only to protect his shop and himself incase I ever had any legal issues pertaining to the exhaust.
No sniffer tests unless you are within the emissions years and they only do that when you go in for testing. They don't have those goofballs on the side of the road that trap you. Lucky for me
That would be quite a sight to see. I'm sure you could find a wrecked on in a yard somewhere and snag some metal, maybe 2 tires and the badges then shape the metal into the mail box, figure out a way to stack the tires and keep them from rolling around and have the box ontop. That would be cool. I can't find pictures so I think you would be a the first to make one.
Got some news today. The exhaust parts I ordered are here, I ordered a set of Hooker Headers with a 3 inch collector, and 2 Summit Street/Strip mufflers. Inlet and outlet are both 3".
And I stated and finished the rear brake work that I needed to do. I could not get the drums turned due to them being to thin already so I will need to buy a set soon. It wasn't as bad as I imagined but it wasn't fun. They were incredibly dirty as well.
The star wheel adjusters were really dirty and hard to turn.
Even cleaned up they look dirty.
One side done!
I didn't get pictures of the other side cause it was getting pretty dark. But I got it done, and test drove it. It seemed that the brake were working like they should be.
I want to give a shout out to Encho, Thank you for making that write up on how to do drum brakes I skimmed through it before starting mine and it helped clear up a few things I didn't know about.
