Either way it's a dumb trans... I kinda wish I had a T-18 instead.

I've always thought the AOD was a POS that never belonged in any sort of truck or SUV. I like my C6 lol.

The AOD I don't think were too bad, the E4OD though, it's fully electronic and isn't too strong IIRC. The AOD was just a C-6 with 4 gears.

No you got that backwards lol, the E40D is just an electronically controlled C6 with some changes and an overdrive in it, the AOD if I remember right is based off the old cruise-o-matic transmissions, those were medium duty transmissions, the AOD always came off to me as a cheap weak transmission though lol.

Oh, could be. I just know the E4OD isn't really desired by most people.

Yeah, I wouldn't want a fully electronic controlled transmission, but I did buy some gauge needle paint

Fluorescent Red Speedo Gauge Needle Restoration Paint | eBay

mine are more yellow than the before picture on that posting lol.

Mine are about the same color as the before pic there, but I don't mind. I'm more concerned about my lack of gauge lights

Mine are more yellow than the before pic, they get kinda hard to see at night. But for $6.96 it's a good cheap project for me lol.

Actually the AOD trans was good to me... My uncle did about 20-40k miles driving and heavy scraping like 1500-2000 lbs every time.. And he actually blew reverse at the scrapyard lol... So I don't think he did too bad if it lasted 109k miles

Hmm, well I think I will stick with the trusted C-6. though sometimes I wish it had a 4th gear or OD, it does ok.

The C-6 is tried and true. The money you'd spend converting it would take a long time to recover in gas savings.

Haha gas savings. Joke of the day right there, there is no savings with TGM. I could make Bill Gates go bankrupt with this monster

In other news, anyone ever hear of a NS Switch overheating and not working, then working the next day? That is what's happening now. I went to the bank and got some cash, and when I went to leave it wouldn't start, but afterwards it started in park every time. Funny how things fix themselves.

My truck got 7-10 MPG when I took it to the exhaust shop, by the way that guy kind of pissed me off, he barely gave me the time of day. I pretty much wasted a gallon of gas to get there and back, oh well at least the truck got taken out for a little drive.
