What should voltage be on our trucks? Is it the same for all motors? If not can you show me for the three big ones? (5.4, V10. 7.3)

12 volts? Is that the answer you're looking for? 13.5 - 14.5 engine running?

Depends on when and where you measure it. A fully charged 12V battery should have a float voltage (after several hours at rest) of about 12.7 volts. And it doesn't matter what vehicle charged it. Charging voltage is constantly variable, but should be between 13.2 and 14.4.

I disagree with your premise that those are the "big ones"!

Seriously though, I think all Ford/Int'l light diesels use 12 volt starters. I know many OTR tractors are 24 volt. But what about F550, F650, etc? I have no idea. It is a good question.

The three big ones for the Super duties

F550 will run the same as F250-450 but 650 an 750 might be different idk.

Yes, considering it might be a Cat or a Cummins in the larger F's.

Used to be fairly common, but not any more. Depending on the truck and how it was spec'd, they use either three or four 12 volt batteries in parallel.

I have no idea. I'll have to ask a couple buddies. One works for a Cat dealer, the other worked for a Komatsu dealer.
