Is there a reason for that? Or are you just strange!? (or both)
Actually, I enjoy being up that early. Its peaceful. And when I get on the road there is no one to bother me. And when I see the occasional car, I can feel a sense of camaraderie because the only reason a sane person would be awake that early would be to get to work to pay the bills.
Well after being gone from FTE for over a month im finally back! While i was gone something happened that showed me how tough these trucks really are and i figure its worth sharing.
My dad was at work 2 weeks ago and got rear ended in his work truck by flat bed tow truck. My dad was at a complete stop in traffic and the truck hit him doing about 35mph. My dad works for SCE and drives a 4x4 F-550 with a utility bed and cherry picker. These trucks are outfitted to withing 500 lbs of their payload capacity not including his tools and his own weight. The tow truck still managed to push his truck forward 6ft even with the 550s brakes applied. Luckily my dad was unhurt and wasnt even sore the next day. The 550 had to be towed away to be inspected per SCE policy but it had no major damage.
