No, this one is farther north, but the same deal. You have to cross an uncontrolled intersection. Coso is a much busier one, with many more trucks, and I don't like trying to sleep there.

That is a beauty though, as artichokes go. Are they a cool season crop? Must be to produce that this early.

Yeah, they're usually done by early July. We might get as many as a dozen flowers in a year, but the first ones are always the biggest.

I've never noticed a difference. I think they're fine as long as you get to them before they open.
