Morning ladies and gents!

 

Beautiful weather up here yesterday. Supposed to be in the low 70's today...perfect racing weather. Gonna go downstairs and whip up a Super 8 waffle, meet up with a couple of NoCal FTE's then it's off to the track.

 

Right on. You gonna take some pics for those of us stuck at softball?

I didn't see that. He just brought that truck back out too.

'morning all.... err... afternoon. (Working a night shift - it seems like morning.) :-)

It's too bad about the unfortunate drag run, but good to see that he's getting it out and running.

Steve - we're all insanely jealous of your trip. Enjoy that waffle. (Seems like waffles are almost always better in the lobby of a hotel in the middle of a road trip.)

Speaking of waffles... I've been making Hocakes lately... and they're all kinds of addicting. (Think of it as a southern pancake made with cornmeal.) Might have to put one in the waffle iron...

The old laptop finally gave up the will to live. In all fairness, I got my money's worth out of it several times over. After 7 years... it was probably time. The old battery had degraded until it retained about a 1.5 minute charge. It was portable... as long as you could sprint to the next electrical outlet before it shut itself down. External sound card, external DVD, external hard drive... it was more like a slim desktop with it's guts on the table next to it.

The new one's fast... and it's insides are... well... on the inside. :-) Much improved. Now that it's portable... I'm thinking it's probably time for the AE software. What I spent on the software might save me the same cost in gauges for troubleshooting.

At any rate, got the new up and running... and it's taking way less time to get it 'dialed in' with all the software and utilities I'm used to having in place... security and otherwise... so I should have fewer and fewer excuses to be a bum about posting enough pictures. Posting to this site takes fooooreeeeveeeer though....

How did things go today?

Will had it right...got beat by .04 in the 3rd round of eliminations. Pretty close race. The guy killed me at the tree with an .010 r/t to my .053, which was just about the margin of victory.

Stewart_H had a very good day. Went to the finals, but lost to the same guy that knocked me out.

Nick went to the semis. He had a good day also.

Got to see Peter, Clay and Kristen. Watched a few trucks break in the sled pull. Fun day all the way around. I'm beat.

Up early to head back....Gonna stop along the way to visit with Gail (bryyce62) and his wife for a bit.

 

anyone know what this is? It looks like the MXT but never saw a wagon version of it....
