However, the original collection had about 1400 cars at one time, so a lot is missing from what was Harrah's. Most of the REALLY good ones.
I have mixed feelings about fabulous collections like that.....

OMG...I remember the Harrah's collection/museum! I always wanted to go there, but never was able to before they closed. Thanks for the link! Atleast I got a glimpse of something that was so great in it's time.
Guess what I just came across?
67 Ford truck for $200 in the Carson City Scoop!!!
I'm thinking it would make a great parts truck if it doesn't run.
I just might have to take a run down south of me to check it out.
I was lucky enough to go to Harrah's Auto Collection on several occasions, as a youth! My Parents used to have a summer home in Tahoe, so every summer we made a trip to Reno, to see the Museum. In later years I lived In Mammoth Lakes, and most of our major shopping was done in Reno, or Sparks. In the later years of the Collection many of the cars were owned by friends and celebrities. Ken Berry was one of the major owners, and was there quite frequently. I was lucky enough to meet him and chat cars with him as a young teen, right before the museum was shut down. There still is a very small version of the museum in town, and it is very well done, with cars from different era's set in Dioramas that are period correct, it is like walking through small town America back the good old days! If you are ever in Reno... make it during August,,, so you can take your old ride for Hot August Nights, and also visit the museum, it makes for a great weekender trip!

Cool.... I thought it had been closed all these years! I'll have to get up there to check it out. Thanks for the info
Yep that is him! I met him the first time in 1974, and the last time we saw him was 1978, he had just gone through a divorce at that point! He took my brother and sister, and I and showed us all of his car's and trucks that he had on display at Harrah's. Ken Berry was very nice to us, and very funny too, the kind of guy you want to go have a beer with. Two really cool cars, were the car from the movie"The Great Race" with Tony Curtis, and the real car that was used in the actual great race in the early 1920's turns out the movie was loosely based on a true story. It was not long after that last meeting , that the car collection was sold by Holiday Inn, the new owners. The latest version of the museum is in downtown Reno near the court house as I recall... no longer in Sparks. One of the old museum buildings I believe is Summit racing now! but I am not sure on that anymore! It has been a few years since I was there!
