Gas prices

We're running $1.27/litre in northern Alberta...I think that works out to about $4.77.
Just to fill up my mini-van cost me over $100 the other day. I'm scared to fill up the X at these prices. We've got holidays planned for Montana and Idaho...I think it's going to cost me over $1500 down and back with the trailer....let alone any sightseeing we do with the X.

a,
I've actually rearranged my summer travels due to the crazy gas prices and we're not even de-winterizing the camper this year!...that's a first for us too!
Not that we're not taking vacations...because we are...it's just that we're not taking towing vacations.
Our main trip this year was going to be from Indiana to Spokane Washington thru Minn, ND, MT, ID, WA and then down thru Yellowstone, Devils Tower, Rushmore, Badlands and home...~5000 miles at ~$0.50 per mile given $4/gallon...I said no thanks this year...
Our alternative vacations have us doing some pretty cool stuff too...July we'll hit San Fran, Yosemite and Vegas (flying to CA) and over Christmas we planned an 8 night Caribbean Cruise out of San Juan...
Overall costs will be similar or maybe slightly higher on the new one...but I'm not lining the oil companies pockets directly...
Good luck on your travels...where in Montana and Idaho are you planning?

We're spending most of our time in the Kalispell area (about 16 days)...this will be our fifth summer down there. We do a bunch of day trip stuff from there...Glacier National Park, Flathead lake, Whitefish...kids love the 4th of July parade every year at Big Fork, Mt. Wife loves shopping and not paying taxes...she gets more excited with our dollar being on par...nasty combination of things going on there.
Then we'll head over to Sandpoint and Coeur D'alene for 3-4 nights...hotel it and leave the trailer in Kalispell. We're planning to spend 2 days at Silverwood theme park...lots of fun for the kids.
I've tried talking the family into going through more of washington and oregon but they love the tradition we have going on...it's all about family time, so I'm good with it.

Filled her up the other day in Pa. Gas is $3.69 a gal. With using my bonus points I paid $1.79 a gal. X 24 gals to fill her up = $43.17
I had $1.90 off a gal. I try to use the card when ever I shop and also gave one to my dad who runs diesel. Since Giant doesnt sell diesel he doesnt have a need for the gas savings. So it helps me a lot.
